Interesting Concepts

The book contains some interesting concepts, however, the characters were not terribly interesting and somewhat typical.

Not up to the usual standard

Really struggling

I have read everything I can get my hands on by Charles Stross. I have enjoyed all of it to different degrees. This is the first book I am really having trouble finishing. It's a complete slog.
The last book was my least favorite after years of reading this author, and I really do NOT care about these characters. I still liked Laundry Filles novels when they diverged to focus on Mo, or the vampires. Just not interested in Eve. She's fine as a supporting character. I won't go into how uninterested I am in the supporting characters of this book.
I keep leaving this book to listen to others. The only interest I have in finishing this book is to ensure that I am familiar with any elements that I may need in the upcoming book that features the return of Bob Howard. Disappointed.
The narrator is great as always.
