I love when I’m wrong.
Revisado: 03-03-25
The whole way through, I just knew who the killer was. My guess I don’t feel like was the obvious one. So I thought I had really pegged it. And when I found out who the real killer was, I was floored.
Great ‘whodunit,’ story!

The police question her friends, teachers, and the adults who knew her—who all have something to hide. And thanks to Clarissa’s beauty, the mystery captures the attention of the nation. But with no leads and no body, the case soon grows cold. Despite the efforts of internet sleuths and true-crime aficionados, Clarissa is never found—dead or alive.

Would have been a five.

I am a sucker for town mystery and teen sleuth genre. It was well written and the narration was on point. But what really turned me off was the heavy political monologue that popped up here and there. I am all for inclusion of your own beliefs. But this one lacked any openness for differing opinions and complete arrogance and immaturity. Helping someone see your side never includes forcing it down their throat.

I want more
Revisado: 01-25-23
I flew through these books. I was hooked by the setting alone. I loved all of the nods to the clue movie and board game. I would love to see more from these characters. More about Beth. And more about the two murder crew couples. As a person from the lbgt community. The relationship between two of my favorite characters really brought this story to life for me.
Come on Diana! Give us another! There’s at least three more weapons to go!

Historia
Esme and Kayla once were campers at Camp Pine Lake. Now they’re back as counselors-in-training. Esme loves the little girls in her cabin and thinks it’s funny how scared they are of everything - the woods, the bugs, the boys...even swimming in the lake. It reminds her of how she and Kayla used to be. Before... Because Esme and Kayla did something terrible when they were campers. Something they’ve kept a secret all these years.

What a let down.
Revisado: 05-28-21
I saw so many reviews when I was about half way through with this one that I just couldn’t believe. Well I just finished it. And they’re right. The ending, was terrible.
There is no mystery. There is no bone chilling twist. There is nothing that makes this book stand out. There were so many moments leading up to the ending where I thought, ‘oh this one is going to be good.’
Nope. Just a big bucket of blood at the end and nothing to show for it. I’m all for a cliffhanger in the right circumstances. But this truly feels unfinished. It’s almost as if the writer threw together the last 30 pages and called it quits.
So disappointed.
