Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Really nice little SF story. Very enjoyable main character. Great action, intelligent. Fine, clear narration.

Historia
In the Raverran Empire, magic is scarce, and those born with power are strictly controlled - taken as children and conscripted into the Falcon Army. Zaira has lived her life on the streets to avoid this fate, hiding her mage-mark and thieving to survive. But hers is a rare and dangerous magic, one that could threaten the entire empire.

Half-decent intrigue with a cardboard heroine.

Struggled to finish this. Very long stretches without action. Very idiosyncratic performance. Shallow and superficial.

Historia
In the aftermath of his terrible war, Ender Wiggin disappeared, and a powerful voice arose: the Speaker for the Dead, who told the true story of the Bugger War. Now, long years later, a second alien race has been discovered by Portuguese colonists on the planet Lusitania. But again the aliens' ways are strange and frightening...again, humans die. And it is only the Speaker for the Dead, who is also Ender Wiggin the Xenocide, who has the courage to confront the mystery...and the truth.

Rough start, uneven mid, but ultimately fulfilling
Revisado: 04-19-18
Ender is the ultimate, infuriating Mary Sue. In the first book he was an introvert turned martial genius. Here he's suddenly the world's wisest priest and counsellor, the most charismatic and best cold reader.
I really struggled to get a start on the book due to this, but once Ender actually got to Lusitania things pick up a lot. However these issues keep plaguing the book, especially Ender being continually described as the oldest human in the universe when he is actually about 25 (space travel doesn't make you relativistically wise!)
