Narrator did an excellent job. Story contents offended me in places. I almost turned it off at one point, but left it on primarily to finish it.

Wonderfully told story of true experience
Revisado: 12-03-19
Another of the "I have read this, but don't remember the details" books in my library. I listen as I drive, no need to change station, etc. Story too compelling to miss any. What an experience for characters, and insight into life at that time, especially immigrants who brought the "old ways" with them. I highly recommend this book for those who like a good story, yet learn new things at the same time.

Amazing Experience listening to this
Revisado: 12-03-19
Being an avid OUTLANDER fan I was amazed at the way this story made me feel like I was back with my favorite characters. Was pleasantly surprised at the reference to Jamie & Claire. I am still trying to figure out how that was done, as there was the other side of encounter in Outlander. WHich came first? This is a great historical novel, I feel like I have been back to the late 1700's and viewed the way of life in the "wilderness". Looking forward to the rest of this series.

Wonderful story, reading, characters
Revisado: 12-03-19
Reader does an excellent job telling the story from the first person. Endearing story of young man and his relationship with his grandfather. Humorous at times, serious at others, but thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended, as is the whole series.

shocking insigt into human nature
Revisado: 12-03-19
It is hard to imagine a person being as self-serving as is seen in this story. Left me initially wanting to listen again to pick up details, similar to solving mysteries. Adds new meaning to the term "That's the way things were then...." Emotional story well read by author, not a lot of distracting theatrics. Sober telling fits soberness of topic. I recommend this, audio book.

Story line involves computer game information. Reader does a great job, but text is boring especially as it gets more involved.in the events. Just not my "cup of tea".
