Historia
Jeff Dolan always wanted to be an astronaut. After helping a private space company build a ship that can travel to Saturn's largest moon in five months, he gets his chance. Shortly after launch, a devastating malfunction forces Jeff and the crew to make a choice: continue to Titan or go back home. As the truth about their mission unravels, one thing is clear: Someone on Earth knew about the system flaw and covered it up. Yet surviving the journey isn't the crew's only concern. Even if they make it to Titan, they will face another problem: Something is already there.

The story may be good, I don’t know. I couldn’t listen for very long. The narrator is hard to listen to. Save your credit!

The Holocene Dating System
Revisado: 02-22-24
I’m enjoying the books. I wish the author hadn’t used the Holocene dating. It doesn’t translate well in an audiobook, imo. I have to pause the book and figure it out. For example, the year 1572 is 11.572. Not too bad if you’re reading a written version. In the audiobook you’ll hear the year 1572 as eleven point five seventy two. I find it difficult.
Early in the book both dates are ‘said’. However, as the book goes on it’s all Holocene dating….mostly.

Historia
Archaeologist Leah Andrews stumbles upon something inexplicable in southwestern New Mexico: Inside a dark cavern lies an undiscovered, Native American cliff dwelling abandoned for 800 years. While twisting through one of the narrow underground passageways, Leah’s flashlight illuminates the remains of a violent massacre. Ancient human remains - all slaughtered in a long-ago massacre - cover the cavern floor, along with several brilliantly colored, granite crystals. The rare gems are native to only one place on earth: A frozen mountain range in central Antarctica.

I feel like I was catfished!
Revisado: 12-31-23
Too much woke, too little science fiction. The old bait and switch. FYI—I did not finish the book. It may have gotten better.
I like books about parallel universes, portals, space travel, time travel, space colonization…you get the idea. I don’t like to read books about romance or politics.
I really tried, but I just couldn’t finish. I felt like I had been catfished. A lesbian teenage couple is the focus first then a heterosexual couple, then a trans woman, then politics, then I stopped listening. I even skipped ahead thinking it would get better and the author would stop patting himself on the back politically …no such luck.
Maybe if I had been able to power through there would have been the story I bought this book for. Don’t waste a credit.

Historia
If you had the power to change things in the past for the betterment of yourself, your family, or the world, what would you do? Brian Partridge is a fan of all things science fiction, especially when a book or film is about time travel. One day after buying all of his favorite author's personal effects in an estate sale following the man’s death, he finds out just how this man of words managed to write about the past with such passion and detail. The truth was he had visited all those places using his very own time machine.

Hokey and Wordy!
Revisado: 11-09-23
So disappointed. I wasted my last credit on this book. The writer goes on and on, describing things and detailing the character’s actions in mind numbing detail. I can’t finish this. Sigh.
P.s…the dad jokes never, ever stop.

Too much fluff
Revisado: 08-08-23
I loved the idea of the book. However, I think it could have been a novella or short story instead. It felt like the author had a word count requirement or something and filled the book with a lot of fluff to meet that word count. I found myself skipping/fast forwarding through boring parts that seemed to have nothing to do with the story or contribute to the plot.

Narrator has an "s" sound problem
Revisado: 07-24-23
I'm not sure if he has a lisp or what to call it, but it's distracting. The "s" sound words are challenging to overlook. Not quite nails on a chalkboard bad...but close. Unfortunately, it looks like the author uses the same narrator for all his books. "Sigh"
I love the story though!
