Historia
In the summer of his 17th year, Samuel Sooleymon gets the chance of a lifetime: a trip to the United States with his South Sudanese teammates to play in a showcase basketball tournament. He has never been away from home, nor has he ever been on an airplane. The opportunity to be scouted by dozens of college coaches is a dream come true.

Disappointed
Revisado: 07-17-21
I came to expect action-filled books that are page turners from Grisham. This was not it. Admittedly, regarding the action-filled nature of the book, the disappointment is my fault; I should have paid more attention to reviews and to the summary. But even after coming to terms with this, I found myself skipping forward over slow parts that I thought were ancilleary and slow. A 7-hours version of this book might have been better.

VERY Disapointing
Revisado: 04-16-19
SO not Grisham... Boring and predictable plot, wartime stories that feel forced upon the reader and only remotely serve the main plot. If the purpose was to depress the reader, then it's a huge success; otherwise it's wasted time.

Historia
To a degree both engrossing and alarming, the story of fast food is the story of postwar America. Fast Food Nation is a groundbreaking work of investigation and cultural history that may change the way America thinks about the way it eats.

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Like a layer cake....
Revisado: 08-28-18
... some parts are good, other parts are idly there as a filler...
Story is OK, and it becomes rather predictable quite early if you allow yourself to accept mixing scifi with police detective work. I was hoping for a more surprising development. Narration was annoying, as the legibility, tone, and volume varied too much. Will Patton was acting the book more than he was reading it.
