Historia
Beyond the familiar lions' den and fiery furnace, much of the book of Daniel seems baffling to modern readers. The first half recounts stories full of ancient Near Eastern protocol and imperial court drama; the second half features apocalyptic visions of monstrous beasts and cosmic conflict. Many Christians misunderstand or simply avoid the book. But failing to read Daniel well means missing a critical part of God's message to us.

Historia
Is faith in Jesus enough for salvation? Perhaps, says Matthew Bates, but we're missing pieces of the gospel. The biblical gospel can never change. Yet our understanding of the gospel must change. The church needs an allegiance shift. Popular pastoral resources on the gospel are causing widespread confusion. Bates shows that the biblical gospel is different, fuller, and more beautiful than we have been led to believe. He explains that saving faith doesn't come through trust in Jesus' death on the cross alone but through allegiance to Christ the king.

Good questions, bad answers
Revisado: 09-21-24
I thought this book asked good questions, important question, but ultimately gave bad answers to them. The authors exegesis is very weak (in fact, he does eisegesis) and I am not at all convinced that his thesis is true. Even though he does not prove his position well, he at least states it clearly so you can decide whether you agree or not.

Historia
Marriage is so much more than a human institution. The Bible teaches that marriage was created by God and reveals an eternal mystery - the mystery of the Gospel. In this way marriage paints a picture of our salvation in and through Jesus Christ. In the second volume in the Short Studies in Biblical Theology series, Pastor Ray Ortlund traces the Bible's teaching on marriage from Genesis to Revelation - revealing how marriage stands at the center of God's redemptive purposes for the world.

Better than the movie
Revisado: 06-26-20
Like to many books that have been turned into film, this book is better than the film. The performances of both author and narrator are polished.
