Wonderous Personalities Brought To Life

Listening to This book was almost like being there in the presence of all these splendid historic Egyptians and in their palaces. Would recommend this Audible book to one and all.

And very satisfying. Quite fun. I got the whole series. Just the listen for a winters day and a cup of tea.

Wonderful series, but book 4 requires a sequel. Seems to stop in the middle of a critical scene. Still will recommend entire series.

The author really goes into great depth of the Roman period . He gives a great background explanation of why the Romans acted as they did and the building of their culture. A very enjoyable book. And the reader is pitch perfect for this material.

I was left in tears...

The unabridged version is very long, but all the details are interesting. The storyline and writing are incredible and I savored every word. At the end of the book, I started to cry with some sadness and a little joy. I only gave the book 4 stars because, althought I didn't guess the correct ending, what really happened wasn't worth the 11 hours I put into this book. But don't let that stop you from listening to it. I had a truly enjoyable journey back to the early 19th Century, and as a bonus, may have some ideas how I would like to conduct myself at the end of my life. AND the narrator was a talented delight.
