Historia
“Homecoming” takes us back to Ford County, the fictional setting of many of John Grisham’s unforgettable stories. Jake Brigance is back, but he’s not in the courtroom. He’s called upon to help an old friend, Mack Stafford, a former lawyer in Clanton, who three years earlier became a local legend when he stole money from his clients, divorced his wife, filed for bankruptcy, and left his family in the middle of the night, never to be heard from again—until now. Now Mack is back, and he’s leaning on his old pals, Jake and Harry Rex, to help him return. His homecoming does not go as planned.

Jeff Daniels ruins the first story
Revisado: 08-06-22
This book is 3 novellas that are narrated by different readers. Jeff Daniels narrates the first one. While I like him as an actor he has no business reading for Audible. He does nothing to differentiate the different characters in the book so at times it is almost impossible to tell who is speaking. At other times his voice goes so soft he is almost impossible to hear. It sounds as if he just got tired of reading.

Historia
Reacher is on a Greyhound bus, minding his own business, with no particular place to go and all the time in the world to get there. Then, he steps off the bus to help an old man who is obviously just a victim waiting to happen. But you know what they say about good deeds. Now, Reacher wants to make it right. An elderly couple have made a few well-meaning mistakes, and now they owe big money to some very bad people. One brazen move leads to another, and suddenly Reacher finds himself a wanted man in the middle of a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs.

Worst Jack Reacher book period!!
Revisado: 11-26-19
I don't think Lee Child wrote this. If I had read this first I would never have read another one. Scott Brick who does a great job for Nelson DeMille is mediocre here. Skip this and read or listen to something else.

Dangling threads
Revisado: 08-09-19
Not up to par. Too many subplots left dangling. Decker out of LA is a pale copy of the original.

Historia
As a detective lieutenant with the LAPD, Peter Decker witnessed enough ugliness and chaos for a lifetime. Now, he and his devoted wife, Rina Lazarus, are ready to enjoy the quiet beauty of upstate New York, where they can be closer to their four adult children and their foster son. But working for the Greenbury Police department isn't as fulfilling as Decker hoped. While Rina has adapted beautifully to their new surroundings, Decker is underwhelmed and frustrated by his new partner, Tyler McAdams, a former Harvard student and young buck with a bad 'tude.

Not one of her best
Revisado: 09-01-16
this one had way too many plot holes to disregard. The ending came very suddenly, like a kid sitting a one page essay for school. She reached the end of the page so she slapped on an epilogue and said "the end".

Historia
When a cop's body is found burned and decapitated, the last thing Andy Carpenter expected is for a stranger to waltz into his office and admit to the crime. For the wise-cracking millionaire defense attorney suffering from "lawyer's block", the case looks like a no-brainer...until the cops pick up another suspect: Andy's lead P.I., Laurie Collins, who happens to be the love of his life.

Andy Carpernter Strikes Again
Revisado: 04-17-12
If you could sum up First Degree in three words, what would they be?
I love the Andy Carpenter books, and this one is one of the best.
What does Grover Gardner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Gardner has a great sense of Carpenter's deprecative style. I love all the joke and wisecracks.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Needs a better Narrator
Revisado: 01-20-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
An otherswise wonderful story is ruined by Wasserman's naration. For some reason, Wasserman uses imitations instead of voices, so instead of hearing one of SK's characters you hear a poor imitation of John Wayne, Burt Lancaster or John Houseman.

Sophmore Slump?
Revisado: 08-10-09
Ms. Lowell needs to decide if she is writing fiction or an art history text book. She spends so much time on the history of Western American Art that she seems to have forgotten the plot.
And her editor needs to understand that the readers can grasp growing sexual tension without repeating every other paragraph that the heroine found the hero's body "edible."

Do Not Get This Book!!
Revisado: 03-21-05
I have read all of the JA Jance JP Beaumont and Sheriff Brady books and liked everyone. This book, however, is unreadable (or rather, unlistenable). It is BORING! I listen as I drive to and from work and this book is a safety hazard, it tends to put me to sleep.
