So Worth the Wait

As prisoners of Midnight's warlord, Haley and her men are forced to carry out his plans to win his war. Elian, Jax, and Hudson are tasked with creating a drug so addictive, it would debilitate the warlord's enemies with no care for how Elian, or any other citizen of midnight, would lose their fight with Dream. Haley was the warlord's secret weapon and worked, non-stop on her spell craft. All while wearing a magic dampening cuff, making her an easy mark to enemies who want to capture and use her.

When Haley is placed in mortal danger by the carelessness of the warlord's actions, some of the burning questions from the first two novels get answered. Not only is this group fighting possible dangers close at home, but the Goddess has returned to Midnight and is now coming after Haley. Will Haley take the opportunity to return home to her sisters or decide to stay and defend a world that now felt like home.

The author has built this beautiful and terrifying world of Midnight as well as given us four strong, sexy monsters that have their own issues, but all share a goal: Protect the brazen, strong-willed woman who claimed their hearts. Whether they deserve it or not. I loved the layers and intrigue in this beautifully written novel and series. The answers provided concerning a few of the mysteries were worth the wait and only make me want more of these characters and this writer's work.

Hooked on this story the way Elian is hooked on Dream. I need more…so much more.
Their mission has failed. With Hudson missing, Jax and Elian wounded and thrown in a cell, and Haley in the hands of the warlord of Midnight, all hope seems lost. But will they give up? I think you know the answer to that. The group must fight to survive and take any chance they can get to escape if they ever want to return home.
The author portrays the real-life struggles of addiction and how it not only affects the user but those who love them. She also succeeds in giving us a kick-ass main character with a soft and gooey center, and equally strong men who will do anything to keep her safe, even if it is from themselves.
The narrators nailed their performances and their portrayals enhanced the story wonderfully. Hearing Jax’s growls and Hudson’s ‘Baby Girl’ made this reader fall in love with the author’s characters even more than by only reading her words.
Will be re-listening until I can get my hands on the rest of this story, but I know that with this author, it will definitely be worth the wait.

I Just Can't Get Enough!

Gabriel finally lowered his defenses only to be betrayed by the witch who’d stolen his heart. Working together with Jacinda will be the only way to defeat the evil in their midst, but will he end up killing her or tying her down to the bed, never letting her leave. The second book in Gabriel’s series is just as hot as the first, showing us more of a duet who’s head-butting and threats, tenderness and passion, only keep the reader on a knifes edge, needy but also satisfied. Sarah Piper has once again brought me to tears, made me laugh, and fan myself with her wonderful storytelling. The narrators provide another stellar performance bringing these fantastic characters to life and making them their own. This is a story I could read/listen to multiple times and never get enough.

Ice v Fire... Oh, yeah. Bring on the Steam

Being a prisoner of the Redthorne prince isn't all it's cracked up to be. A golden cage is still a cage. Bit by bit, Jacinda begins to thaw Gabriel's icy exterior, but will her past ruin any chance at warming his heart? A great continuation of the Vampire Royals of New York series. Sarah Piper has succeeded in making readers invested in her characters once again. Great world-building, suspense, danger, and sensual buildup. The tension between her main characters will have you dying to find out what happens next. Flawless casting has once again brought us narrators who portray these characters to perfection, draw out their emotions and bring the author's story to life. This steamy, emotional rollercoaster makes you want to buy a ticket to ride again and again.

Homerun hit by the author and her sexy monsters

Haley has physical and emotional scars, but they’ve only made her stronger. One deal to save her loved ones, followed by one seemingly impossible repayment leads to her asking for help from the person who scarred her the most. This book leads you down a dark path filled with monsters you won’t want to hide under your bed but rather snuggle right alongside you in it. Speaking of beds, you may need a larger one if you plan on it holding the sexy monsters narrated to perfection in this book. And the growls…let’s just say, certain parts of the story may have been replayed just to hear it, again and again. This author’s ability to drag you into a world she’s created and her gift at pulling out emotions in the reader is top notch. This reader, in particular, will be antsy until she can get her hands on the next book in this series.

would have good except for the Rapes

The narrator was great and the story was interesting. But I would have preferred a warning about rape in the story. Just a warning about Adult content is not the same thing. It could be very traumatic for anyone who was raped to come across this book and see the message that its okay because her body reacted like she wanted it when she clearly didn't.
