Meh.....
Revisado: 02-17-18
Where does Grave Silence rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was a good book and insight into another world, but it seemed forced. I like the growth of the characters, but it felt slow. This a good listen, but you must be patient.
Would you ever listen to anything by Rose Beecham again?
Absolutely, because I want to see the growth of the characters.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Her pitch and timber was very masculine even though I know she was a more "butch" female. I wish it was not so stereotypical.

This was a good quick summer listen. The performance was well done. The premise has been done a million times before but who cares. Give this one a try.

Mindless listen...if that is what you need....
Revisado: 08-10-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
First, I must say the narrator is horrible. I agree with one reviewer it was difficult to distinguish between one character or another. Also the random chapter announcements was a bit odd, they seemed to pop up out of no where around chapter 7 and I honestly can't say I remember noticing them before...I wanted to enjoy this, but the title character was so vapid at times and for a person who is supposed to be intuitive she lacks common sense. I think I would have preferred to actually read the book myself and formulate my own vision of this character, but with the poor narration I was waiting for this story to just simply end.

I actually enjoyed this story. The narrator is not the best, but if you can get past that point, the listening is enjoyable. Good summer read or for light listening.

Historia
Loreen Murphy hadn't meant to hire a male prostitute in Las Vegas. It was all just a big, stupid, expensive misunderstanding. Abbey Walsh never intended anyone to find out about the fact that she's being blackmailed. As a minister's wife, her sordid past was supposed to be a secret. Tiffany Vanderslice Dreyer never dreamed that she'd find herself up to her eyeballs in credit card debt from one mad moment of a shopping spree. She's an upstanding wife and mother with the perfect marriage...right?

Wrapped up nice and tidy....this is not "deep" listening or a mind-bending story...was predictable, but still enjoyed it for the entertainment if provided.

Historia
Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

Read before seeing the movie...
Revisado: 08-28-09
At first I was not convinced, I actually started over because I felt as if I had missed something or was confused. With further listening, I was sucked into a world that mirrored my own childhood from Claire's perspective and found the love bittersweet. The ending was not as I expected, but does life end as you expected? Worth the read/listen and also worth an open mind. This is not Science-Fiction, Space Alien kind of reading. This is for looking outside of the box at the posibilities and dificulties of love.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!
Revisado: 07-23-09
I purchased this book this morning in hopes of having something decent to listen to for my day at work. Well I was so turned off by the narration that I actually could not even get through the first hour of this book. Mr. Dufris makes every word sound vulgar and I felt uncomfortable listening to him slaughter this book. I was not expecting stellar writing, but I did want and easy listen and this was anything but. I am tempted to write Audible for a credit refund.

Not all Bad...but
Revisado: 05-06-09
I have been a fan of the "Women's Murder Club" series and I also enjoyed the television show (RIP). This was my first audiobook for the series and it was lackluster at best. The voice of the characters was barely discernable from one to another and felt unmotivated. I understand this is fluff writing, but it is enjoyable, but the listening was not what I expected. Needs better phrasing and the pronuciation is too upper-crust for a cop. Better luck next time, but I will by the paper instead.

Ummm.....
Revisado: 03-12-09
As many listeners(readers) I was thrilled with the first adaptation. At first listen I was thrown off and my equillibrium took quite some time to recover. Brendan Frasier took some getting used to, but it seemed he caught his stride by the end of the story. I would be careful next time to take a listen before, I buy, but overall, if listening purely for story sake, it was good and I will purchase the next. Just not sure if it will be something I can actually turn the page of or something I can listen too.
