This book in a nutshell is you can trust the gospels, because the people who wrote them knew about the culture, places, and the geography. Which is fine, but the author seems not wanting to tackle real issues about the legitimacy of trusting the gospels, such as various contradictions between the Gospels, and so on. I feel like this book is only half written, and he's missing the 2nd half of the book. Overall this book is basic, written by a guy who really wants to believe the Gospels, all the while afraid to tackle the tough questions scholars debate. it's easy to say the gospels are legitimate if you don't talk about anything could be considered illegitimate.

A book written for Christians who already believe

The author says at the beginning that his book will be a scholarly book, but then spends the rest of the book just quoting the Bible over, and over, and over again, which is not scholarly at all. This book was nothing special, or new. It's just another typical Christian apologetics book about the same old Trope of anecdotal, hear say, bad resurrection evidences that we should all believe, because the Bible says so.
Plus the author talks about Oxford University like he wants us to believe that he graduated from there when he did not. Just because he went to a school inside the town of Oxford. UK, and got to use Oxford's Library, it does not mean that he went to Oxford University.

An entire book that gets atheism wrong.

It's the entire book about atheism, and the author gets atheism wrong at every turn. Atheism isn't a belief. it isn't a worldview, and it isn't a faith, all atheism is is "I've studied the evidence of your claims, and I don't think your claims warrant believing it based on the evidence that were provided" that's it. But the author gets that wrong repeatably.
Christians say that atheism is a belief, religion or Faith, but it's not. In fact, Christians are 'atheists' to every other religion they don't believe in, and they don't call themselves atheists, they call themselves Christians. Many people are atheist to aliens, many people are atheist to the existence of Bigfoot, and that is not a worldview. Atheists think of the non-existence of God the same that Christians think of the non-existence of Bigfoot, Allah, vishnu, etc.
This entire book could have been all avoided if the author would've just taken the time to understand what atheism is. but he didn't bother to do that. All he does is portray himself as a whiny child with a tantrum, arguing about why atheists only want to ruin Society, rape, murder and kill, and why Christianity is the only way to save the world. And the evidence the author uses to try to prove Christianity true is really bad evidence.. The author's reason to believe his evidence that Christianity is true is "we can't think of any other reason therefore it must be God. and not just any God, but the god of the Bible, who's the God that I believe in, and you should believe me."
Listen to this book if you want an entertaining 5 hours listening to an uneducated on this subject author rambling on, and ranting, portraying atheism incorrectly consistently. But if you're looking for a serious book into the mind of atheists, then this is definitely not the book for you.

This book offers no proof whatsoever

Clever title from a marketing standpoint, but This book offers no proof whatsoever. It's just regurgitated sub par apologetics, mostly the God of the gaps fallacy. The only proof this book hopes to gain is at the very most is to point to some unknown deistic God that may or may not be responsible for creation. but the author goes one step further and says it's the Christian God, when rhe author has no way of knowing anything that he says for sure, Because faith is not a knowledge. having faith in the god of the Bible does not mean that you have the knowledge of the god of the Bible . Don't waste your time on this book, there are many better books on these subjects on the market . So I'll save you all the time here. This whole book in a nutshell is "God did it, I believe it, because the Bible says God did it."

This book was ok. but the author told nothing new on this subject. If you're interested in this subject, I suggest reading books by Bart Erhman or Robert M. Price instead of this book.
