Historia
In 2007, a short blogpost by Gawker Media outed PayPal founder and billionaire investor Peter Thiel as gay. Thiel's sexuality had been known to close friends and family, but he didn't consider himself a public figure, and believed the information was private. This post would be the casus belli for a meticulously plotted conspiracy that would end nearly a decade later with a $140 million dollar judgment against Gawker and its bankruptcy. Only later would the world learn that Gawker's demise was not incidental - it had been masterminded by Thiel.

A fascinating story muddled by the narration
Revisado: 01-10-19
Candidly this is a extremely interesting event. Tracing the power struggle between a large media company and a billionaire. Anyone who is interested in tech and the people behind it will enjoy this.
Pros:
It's almost to crazy to believe actually happened
Cons:
The narration style made it hard to enjoy. I had to listen at 2.5x to make the speed and pauses bearable.
The ending loses steam when in the last chapters the author abruptly jumps a political commentary about Donald Trump. Without far more context it feels unrelated and muddles what is otherwise a fascinating story about power and how to use it.

Meaningful content, that gets hidden in the fluff

Overall, this is a good book detailing the growing interest in design thinking. The companies interviewed are impressive and the stories have real value. I just found that the book could have been considerably more concise. Whole passages exist to boost and elevate the authors rather than further their premise. I understand the need to establish credibility at the start of the book, but when it continues straight through the final chapter I question the relevance.
Would I recommend this book? Hard to say actually. A quick read of a few articles on design thinking will give you as much or more useable pieces to go on. If you're looking for validation that design thinking will stick around then yes, this book is for you.

When you think of a Christian pastor, you probably don't envision a tattooed 30-something who wears a motorcycle jacket, listens to hip-hop music, references The Walking Dead and Black Lives Matter in his sermons, and every Sunday draws a standing-room only crowd to a venue normally used for rock concerts - in godless New York City, no less. But then you clearly have never met Carl Lentz. As head pastor of the first United States branch of global megachurch Hillsong, the former college basketball player is on a mission to make Christianity accessible in the 21st century.

An incredible uplifting book that will impact life
Revisado: 01-08-18
This book is easy to understand but has depth to digest. If you choose to let it, the ideas in this book will impact your life. Carl reading it himself makes it come off as a conversation not a lecture. We all have moments, what will you do with yours?
