Historia
Many people are crying out to Jesus, but few are regularly fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. Yet the Holy Spirit dwells in our spirits. We are his temple (1 Cor. 6:19), and he is our comforter, counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener, and standby (John 14:26, AMP). The Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth - including the truth about our beautiful savior (John 16:13). And the Holy Spirit is speaking to us more than we know.

Not What I Expected
Revisado: 08-18-24
I purchased this book to learn more about lectio divina and how to incorporate the ancient form of praying into my prayer life. The narration of the book is over eight hours. If the author were to reduce the number of stories and minimize the anecdotes, the book could be narrated in half that time or less. Eight hours is far too long. Think about it...thats a work day! Unless you are prepared to invest that much time in one sitting or multiple days listening to the audio book, either 1) obtain a hard copy (because you could read faster and skip over the unnecessary parts) or 2) find a different book on the same subject that takes less time to get through.
Please understand the author does explain lectio divina, it's history, and impact on one's prayer life and relationship with God. His reading performance is captivating (two thumbs up). Unfortunately, the substance of the book is sandwiched between so many stories and anecdotes provided as attempts at humor (or some other purpose of which Im unsure) it takes away from what could have been a great read (in this case listen). I kept finding myself falling asleep while listening or screaming "get to the point"! He does get to the point...more than eight hours later.
I recommend but with the caveat that this book requires an investment of time.

Worthy of a second listen
Revisado: 07-14-24
Understanding our authority as Christians is important. Understanding how to exercise that authority in the spiritual realm is critical. Understanding why our authority should be used, and the ways it can be used to influence the world around us, is pivotal to successfully bringing Heaven to earth.
This book is engaging. It presents information, such as the link between technology and innovation and the spirit realm, that may be new to most. Accepting the argument that there is a connection is a stretch but if you listen from a Kingdom of Heaven perspective, you'll see the validity of the argument and be blessed with lots of "ah ha" moments.
You don't have to be an academic to understand some of the concepts discussed in the book but you may have to listen to the chapter where they are introduced more than once. By the end, you'll be more informed and empowered.
I had to set aside my concerns about Bethel Church, a congregation that participates in practices that are NOT biblical and are spiritually harmful (e.g., grave soaking and other false teachings) in order to give the book and the author a fair and unbiased chance. Although I don't agree with everything mentioned, I'm glad I read/listened to the book.
I strongly encourage anyone interested in learning more about the spirit realm to do your research. Question everything you hear and read. Question the source of information. Above all, let the Holy Bible have the final say. It's the Word of God.

If any of us learned we were going to move to a foreign country, we'd do everything we could to learn about that place so that we'd be prepared when moving day arrived. As Christians, we know some day we will leave our familiar country and be united with God in heaven. And yet many of us know very little about this place called heaven.

Revisado: 07-06-24
Dr. Jefferess does a wonderful job using scripture to describe Heaven and thoroughly lays out how to get there. There are no fantastical hoops to jump through just a simple truth to believe: Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven - here is how; this is why.

Historia
For as long as he can remember, Blake K. Healy has seen angels and demons. He sees them as clearly as he would see you if you were standing right in front of him. He sees angels dancing in worship services and whispering words of encouragement in people's ears. He also sees demons latching on to people and perpetuating addiction and bitterness in their hearts. The Veil chronicles how Blake matured in this gifting, while overcoming the fear and confusion of what he saw.

Not sure if I believe everything, particularly events where Jesus was seen (it's written that no man has seen Him), but the insights about the spirit realm are things every Christian should know.
