This little book does not have a lot of ideas in it, but some where illuminating, thus a keeper. Also, it’s not full of stories and storytelling, and this is a ++

Historia
In times of stress, we have a choice: we can retreat further into our isolated silos, or we can commit to "going higher together". When external pressures are mounting, and employees are working from far-flung locations across the globe, says best-selling author Keith Ferrazzi, we can no longer afford to waste time navigating the complex chains of command or bureaucratic bottlenecks present in most companies.

Be a good person. Take the initiative. Help your colleagues. That’s about all of the meaningful content this book contains. Just a little bit repetitive. Could have been a blog post.

I‘m exhausted by 300 page books full of bedtime story material, which, removed, would leave at best 50 meaningful pages. On the contrary, this book focuses on actionable items, which can be immediately applied.

A book about nothing
Revisado: 07-18-20
The first chapters seemed promising, but quickly the book fell off a cliff and turned out to be a boring restatement of the already obvious information, that doing useless things is useless and a waste of time. I felt like my time was stollen. Two stars plus only for the motivational aspect of reducing distractions, but there are better books about it.

Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

All problems are interpersonal relationship problems
Revisado: 06-10-20
“All problems are interpersonal relationship problems” you will hear this phrase a lot. It is repeated so many times, sometimes in a row, that by the end of the book I felt nauseous and begged it to stop, but the phrase just went on repeatedly. The pseudo science itself is also extremely doubtful, utter denial of psychological trauma? Tell that to ptsd sufferers. The whole tone of the “philosopher” is condescending despite claims of striving for “horizontal relationships”.
The ideas presented might be good to know, but that doesn’t make them valid.

Historia
In this classic, the world’s expert on language and mind lucidly explains everything you always wanted to know about language: how it works, how children learn it, how it changes, how the brain computes it, and how it evolved. With deft use of examples of humor and wordplay, Steven Pinker weaves our vast knowledge of language into a compelling story: language is a human instinct, wired into our brains by evolution. The Language Instinct received the William James Book Prize from the American Psychological Association....

As exciting as listening to a dictionary
Revisado: 05-31-20
This book starts with some interesting ideas but quickly drops to a mode of endless verb tables, restating obvious conjugation as points to prove something that is lost in hours after hours of this monotonous rambling. As if challenged with the task of would it be possible to make the material even more drudging, wrong examples are also listed along with regular conjugation, making a dictionary read out loud literally more interesting and with more useful content word for word.

Historia
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

What is this book about?
Revisado: 05-31-20
Disappointing book with absolutely no content that I find new or interesting. Cliche on cliche on cliche. Humans lie. Everyone knows that. The annoying thing is that this extremely known fact is presented as if this is an innovative or novel discovery. Good performance though.

Historia
"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." Pretty good
Revisado: 05-18-19
I found this title good for several reasons:
*going against mainstream egotistical “grit” ideas in some ways
*not long enough for me to lose a interest and get frustrated (ego speaking, but true)
*interview after the book ends was as interesting to me if not more
Deduction for what I feel is lacking practical recommendations for what to do apart from keeping it real and being humble, but a good start nonetheless.
