Historia
Ukraine's sudden prominence in American politics has compounded an already-widespread misunderstanding of what is actually happening in the nation. In the American media, Ukraine has come to signify an inherently corrupt place, rather than a real country struggling in the face of great challenges. Ukraine: What Everyone Needs to Know addresses Ukraine's relations with the West, particularly the United States, from the perspective of Ukrainians.

Historia
Dr. Francis Collins, head of the Human Genome Project, is one of the world's leading scientists, yet he is also a man of unshakable faith in God and scripture. Dr. Collins has resolved the dilemma that haunts everyone who believes in God and respects science. Faith in God and faith in science can be harmonious, not separately but together, combined into one worldview. For Collins, science does not conflict with the Bible, science enhances it.

Hidden agenda.
Revisado: 06-15-24
In my opinion, this book was written to promote the theory of Darwin's Evolution to Christians. He does not want anyone to consider "intelligent design" or anything against the dogma of Darwin's theory of evolution. As more people are discovering what real scientist's knew, that evolution has no basis in provable science, Collins seems to tell people not to believe their lying common sense. No, by all means, the dated 1860's philosophy of evolution must be taught and maintained. He takes a religious approach to convince the faith based reader that evolution is not bad after all. but Darwinism has been used as a vehicle, forced upon us, to dispel the belief in God and promote the state as the church. Don't be tricked. Read "Signature in the Cell" by Stephen C. Meyer and "Darwin's Black Box" by Michael Behe. Those books and authors will astonish you with their brilliance. "The Language of God" reads like propaganda. Collins said that these author's try to convince people to believe only in God as a designer. There is no truth to that. These books are evidence based and hold no conclusion other than to open our minds to the complexities of life so that we can set forth on a science that may lead to the truth. It seems Collins plays his folk music between chapters in the effort to soften the reader to blindly believe in evolution and try to convince us not to believe in intelligent design. If you read this book, read between the lines.

Historia
Darwin's theory of evolution is accepted by most educated Americans as simple fact. This easy acceptance, however, hides from us the many ways in which evolution - as an idea - shapes our thinking about a great many things. What if this idea is wrong? What if "evolution" is just a word that covers up scientific ignorance of how the wonders of the living world could have been created? Berkeley law professor Phillip Johnson looks at the evidence for Darwinistic evolution the way a lawyer would - with a cold dispassionate eye for logic and proof.

Historia
For decades, biology has been dominated by the study of genetic information. Information is important, but it is only part of what makes us alive. Our inheritance also includes our living metabolic network, a flame passed from generation to generation, right back to the origin of life. In Transformer, biochemist Nick Lane reveals a scientific renaissance that is hiding in plain sight-how the same simple chemistry gives rise to life and causes our demise.

I like the details that were made easy to understand. There was a declaration made at the end that life comes from non-life. I think that is what was said, but my untrained ears missed the bridge of evidence for this. I recommend this book.

Historia
When his missionary brother renounced faith in favor of atheism, Perry Marshall was plunged into crisis and doubt. He decided: “I”m going to let science make this decision for me.” He asked: “Is the hand at the end of my arm purposeful? Or is it purposeless?” He leapt into the void of evolution and the origin of life. He could not have begun to anticipate what he was about to discover. Living things were far more sophisticated than textbooks were saying.

Historia
Erich von Däniken again shows his flair for revealing truths that his contemporaries have missed. After closely analyzing hundreds of ancient and apparently unrelated texts, he is now ready to proclaim that human history is nothing like the world religions claim---and he has the proof! In History Is Wrong, von Däniken takes a closer look at the fascinating Voynich manuscript, which has defied all attempts at decription since its discovery, and makes some intriguing revelations about the equally incredible book of Enoch.

Historia
Carl Zimmer investigates one of the biggest questions of all: What is life? The answer seems obvious until you try to seriously answer it. Is the apple sitting on your kitchen counter alive, or is only the apple tree it came from deserving of the word? If we can’t answer that question here on Earth, how will we know when and if we discover alien life on other worlds? The question hangs over some of society’s most charged conflicts - whether a fertilized egg is a living person, for example, and when we ought to declare a person legally dead.
