Historia
There are three rules Brooke Sullivan must follow as a new nurse practitioner at a men’s maximum-security prison: 1) Treat all prisoners with respect. 2) Never reveal any personal information. 3) Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates. But none of the staff at the prison knows Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary’s most notorious and dangerous inmates.

Freida is popular
Revisado: 04-11-25
Freida McFadden’s popularity seems largely driven by the shocking twists she delivers at the end of her novels. However, beyond these climactic surprises, her writing often feels hokey and lacks depth. The storytelling and narrative flow appear underdeveloped, resulting in a reading experience that doesn’t fully engage. This particular book aligns with the same mediocre style found in her other works, offering little in terms of innovation or literary growth.

Horrible Choice of Narrator
Revisado: 05-09-24
Another reviewer said the audio book might have been okay if it had had a different narrator. I didn’t believe them and downloaded the book. I was stupid to have ignored their review. They were 100% correct. The narrator was awful for this book. I couldn’t listen to the whole book. The narrator is more suited to narrating silent films…

Historia
Months into the apocalypse, the zombies show no signs of dying, but it's clear everyone in Sunset Park will die without enough food to outlast the undead. Add in the less-than-sociable new neighbors only blocks away, and the hunt for sustenance has come to feel more like a race than a ramble. Sylvie is happy in her new home with the people who've become like family, though she's still working out how to let them into her heart. Eric wants in, and he wants to find his sister, but he can't do both at the same time.

Are you here because of the Until The End of the World Series?
Revisado: 02-01-24
SPOILER: if you are thinking of this series because you want to know if Cassie and Eric are reunited…they are. However, it does not happen until the epilogue of the last book and they are only reunited over the radio.
The male narrator is horribly annoying. The story is mundane and at times juvenile. Don’t bother with this one.

Good story line but…
Revisado: 07-04-23
The narrator was absolutely horrible. The voices he used for the females and children were so annoying it distracted from the actual story.

Historia
Nestled in the mountain shadows of Alabama lies the little town of Wicklow. It is here that Anna Kate has returned to bury her beloved Granny Zee, owner of the Blackbird Café. It was supposed to be a quick trip to close the café and settle her grandmother’s estate, but despite her best intentions to avoid forming ties or even getting to know her father’s side of the family, Anna Kate finds herself inexplicably drawn to the quirky Southern town her mother ran away from so many years ago, and the mysterious blackbird pie everybody can’t stop talking about.

Not memorable
Revisado: 11-24-22
It was okay but is not memorable. This will not be a book you dwell on. It will help you pass the time on a long boring drive though.
Update:1/24/2025
I take it back. This was memorable for the way it made me feel. I don’t remember much of the story line, just the feeling of contentment while listening to it. That in and of itself is worth the buy.

Historia
Everyone knows everyone in the tiny town of Bourne, but the Mitchell triplets are especially beloved. Mirabel is the smartest person anyone knows, and no one doubts it just because she can’t speak. Monday is the town’s purveyor of books now that the library’s closed - tell her the book you think you want, and she’ll pull the one you actually do from the microwave or her sock drawer. Mab’s job is hardest of all: get good grades, get into college, get out of Bourne.

I did not like this book
Revisado: 08-30-21
I have never been so annoyed by a books content and the way it was narrated. It is usually one or the other. Sadly this book misses on both. It is not worth a credit or the price as a sale item.

Startling, unusual, and yet irresistably readable, Among Others is at once the compelling story of a young woman struggling to escape a troubled childhood, a brilliant diary of first encounters with the great novels of modern fantasy and SF, and a spellbinding tale of escape from ancient enchantment.
