Historia
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Are you tired of feeling f*cked up? If you are, Gary John Bishop has the answer. In this straightforward handbook, he gives you the tools and advice you need to demolish the slag weighing you down and become the truly unf--ked version of yourself. "Wake up to the miracle you are," he directs. "Here's what you've forgotten: You're a f--king miracle of being." It isn't other people that are standing in your way; it isn't even your circumstances that are blocking your ability to thrive. It's yourself and the negative self-talk you keep telling yourself.

Stringing together of Pithy Sentiments
Revisado: 02-27-19
Based upon the other reviews I was optimistic about gleaning some new insights, but didn't. The author strings together sentiments that read like motivational posters placed in corporate boardrooms with no substance to string them together.

Chilling and Engaging book
Revisado: 02-18-19
The book is completely as advertised: a bizarre and chilling story. An excellent companion read to watching HBO's "The Jinx", providing more information about the people involved in the murders and investigations surrounding them.

Integrating hundreds of studies with her own research and work in the Fortune 500 world, organizational psychologist Tasha Eurich shatters conventional assumptions about what it takes to truly know ourselves - like why introspection isn't a bullet train to insight, how experience is the enemy of self-knowledge, and just how far others will go to avoid telling us the truth about ourselves. At a time when self-awareness matters more than ever, Insight is the essential playbook for surviving and thriving in an unaware world.

I loved this book snd I'm sure I will re-read it. It captures the love of running and the incredible dedication of ultra runners, and the sense of community among runners.
A minor critique: the narrator turning "athlete" into a three-syllable word was grating!

Historia
As an old house is demolished in a gentrifying section of London, a workman discovers a tiny skeleton, buried for years. For journalist Kate Waters, it's a story that deserves attention. She cobbles together a piece for her newspaper, but at a loss for answers, she can only pose a question: Who is the Building Site Baby? As Kate investigates, she unearths connections to a crime that rocked the city decades earlier: A newborn baby was stolen from the maternity ward in a local hospital and was never found.

Unpredictable and Entertaining
Revisado: 07-30-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Child to be better than the print version?
I enjoyed the narrators bringing the characters to life, particularly that of Angela - worn down by years of not knowing the whereabouts of her child.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Child?
The plot twists were unpredictable - don't want to include spoilers. I found the ending to be satisfying.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrators definitely brought the characters to life, even the ones who were despicable.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
You can't bury the truth.
