The author/narrator clearly believes in his ideas and work, as you'll feel his passion throughout the audiobook. I felt compelled to take action or think differently with about 20% of the content. The rest of the time, I felt yelled at?

Fantastic stories! Lifeless narration :/ The audio book would have been more enjoyable with a better narrator. Read the book instead.

Halfway, 80%, and at completion of the book, I asked myself "What am I supposed to be taking away from this book?" and I couldn't figure it out. Bit of a bummer because I liked Tipping Point so much. The stories in this book were interesting and well produced though! Reminded me of Adam Grant's book Think Again, except I didn't really understand why the stories were being told. If it was read by anyone other than Malcolm, I would have stopped listening halfway through.

The content his team puts together is good. This book is not a reflection of that. Books is not his lane. The sunk cost fallacy kept me going from 20% to 60% of the book before I said "enough!" and marked the book as finished. Not mad at Gary V, but I was briefly mad at myself for listening so long. Onward.

Bill Bryson made this topic fun to listen to! I learned some new things, and had the luxury of unlearning things I had previously thought to be true.

Unfortunately, this is not a "how to" book as the title says. Your least favorite chapter from How to Win Friends and Influence People will be more valuable to you than your favorite chapter in Supercommunicators. The stories are out of touch with the communication desires of a very high percentage of the population. Personally, I am unable to recall 1 actionable item due to a lack of inspiring content.

Not what I thought it would be

Very well read by the author, but not the inspiration I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be more about going out of your comfort zone, by talking to people, to get more from life. This book seems better suited for someone that's in a relationship with a good person, but they would rather break up with them and be alone(?). From that lense it would get a higher rating.
