Historia
The man they took prisoner was not the Jonathan Tibbs they remembered. He said that time was running out. That the world faced an enemy it could not defeat. He said everything depended on whether or not they could make a leap of faith. Then, he asked them for five nuclear warheads. The Never Army is the final installment in The Chronicles of Jonathan Tibbs - a mind-bending, genre-crossing, multiple award-winning, action-adventure trilogy.

Clever modern SciFi
Revisado: 02-17-24
A clever modern SciFi, about a protagonist who is neither so brilliant that he feels like an author self-insert, not so stupid that a clever man cannot empathize with his struggle.

Johannes Cabal is a necromancer - and he's slightly infamous. Johannes Cabal and the Blustery Day: And Other Tales of the Necromancer features seven of Cabal's most frightening adventures, including "Exeunt Demon King", "The Ereshkigal Working", "Johannes Cabal and the Blustery Day", and more. Also included is an original introduction written and read by the author.

If audible released works of such quality monthly, I would never unsubscribe. Jonathan L Howard is a master of dry wit.

Historia
Johannes Cabal, a necromancer of some little infamy, has come into possession of a vital clue that may lead him to his ultimate goal: a cure for death. The path is vague, however, and certainly treacherous as it takes him into strange territories that, quite literally, no one has ever seen before. The task is too dangerous to venture upon alone, so he must seek assistance - comrades for the coming travails.

The book was and is excellent, but the reader's poor pronunciation of certain words leaves much to be desired.

Historia
Horst, the most affable vampire one is ever likely to meet, is resurrected by an occult conspiracy that wants him as a general in a monstrous army. Their plan is to create a country of horrors, a supernatural homeland. As Horst sees the lengths to which they are prepared to go and the evil they cultivate, he realizes that he cannot fight them alone. What he really needs on his side is a sarcastic, amoral, heavily armed necromancer.

An excellent fourth installment.
Revisado: 03-30-22
Jonathan L Howard remains a delight to listen to, a delight somewhat hampered by the reader's tendency to mispronounce words.

Historia
Johannes Cabal and his rather inexact powers of necromancy are back once more. This time, his talents are purchased by the Fear Institute as they hunt for the phobic animus - the embodiment of fear. The three institute members, led by Cabal and his silver key, enter the Dreamlands and find themselves pursued by walking trees plagued with giant ticks, stone men that patrol the ruins of their castles, cats that feed on human flesh, and phobias that torment and devastate.

Good book, middling narrator

An excellent story, but the narrator mispronounced many words, which took me right out of it.

Historia
A magical serial killer is on the loose, and gelatinous, otherworldly creatures are infesting the English countryside. Which is making life for the Ministry of Occultism difficult, because magic is supposed to be their best kept secret. After centuries in the shadows, the Ministry is forced to unmask, exposing the country's magical history - and magical citizens - to a brave new world of social media, government scrutiny, and public relations.

A good story well told.
Revisado: 08-24-21
Differently Morphous mocks all sides of the political correctness debate to the point that it's impossible to accuse it of taking any particular stance on the issue, which suits the genre perfectly.
Yahtzee Croshaw has a talent for voice work which allows the dry wit and thoughtful composition of the narrative to flow smoothly from chapter to chapter in a way that draws the reader in. I began listening merely to fill the space during a long road trip, and soon found myself listening to it for its own sake, just to see where the story was going next.
