I love this series. Thought I reviewed it. Guess not. So, here we go. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot. I like the mystery and romance. I loved the performance of the reading. The different voices for the characters only enhanced the experience. Well done!

Historia
Shadowvale isn’t your typical small-town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. For Isadora Graham, Shadowvale seems like a dream come true. A safe haven where she can hide from the darkness that lives within her and, hopefully, keep everyone else from finding out about it too. She needs this kind of place where she’ll be left alone. Where no one will realize who she really is.

Okay, I’m totally invested…I need to know what happens. Will Amelia (sp?) ever find her love and be reunited? I just want more to read. Wishing these little towns were real. Another good story. Another great performance by Mr. Harrison. Well done.

Historia
Werewolf Virginia "Ginny" French's curse means no one can remember her. Not even for as long as it takes to ring up her groceries or make her favorite iced coffee. And being that forgettable has turned her life into an incredibly lonely existence. So much so, she's thinking about doing something really wild just to entertain herself. Werewolf Ezekiel "Easy" Grayle loved his life until he got struck by lightning and lost control of his shifting abilities. It’s led to some uncomfortable situations - and the decision to move to a town where the unpredictable is acceptable.

Historia
Shadowvale isn’t your typical small town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. Vampire Constantin Thibodeaux was cured of his sun "allergy" when he moved to Shadowvale. Now he runs the local bookstore, which is really just a sideline to filling his own library. Books, unlike people, are far more forgiving of his prickly nature. But he doesn’t care if people don’t like him. He is who he is. And he’s happy. Well, he’s content. Okay, he’s…fine.

Shadowvale #3
Revisado: 05-29-23
I think this was a cute story. I love Shadowvale. Sometimes the characters fall in love so fast it throws me…like oh yeah that happens only yesterday…but time seems relative in Kristen’s stories. I like that. I like how the sisters come together. I wish there was an epilogue in this one that kind of goes over what happens to Andi’s wings. BJ Harrison does a good performance with character voices.

Jayne takes Sinclair on a much-needed visit to her winter wonderland home, the North Pole. She wants him to see what her royal life is truly like. She knows the protocol and regulations that define her existence as heir to the Winter Throne aren’t for everyone and worries it will be more than he wants to handle. All seems well until a weird coincidence in a toy contest has some of the citizens of the North Pole giving Sinclair the side-eye. He’s a necromancer, and not everyone is okay with that.

Revisado: 05-09-23
I absolutely love this series. I cannot believe I hadn’t left a review. I’ve probably gone through the whole series a dozen times. It’s my go to when I need something. I love the mix of magic and Christmas. The romance and my favorite Spider. Hollis McCarthy does a fabulous job with the different voices. Probably a big reason I listen to the series so much. Thank you Kristen Painter. Huge huge fan!

I’m Not Sure about this…
Revisado: 04-27-23
I am all about magic and mystery. I’m over an hour in to listening. At first it felt like the family might be some kind of supernatural or Ozzie might be but honestly it’s losing any kind of feel of magic.
I read a lot of the comments about screaming. Ok, so I have only experienced shouting in one part but it was appropriate. Mostly this feels narrated not like a story where it sucks you in to the story feeling like you’re there. Yeah that’s not happening with this but I don’t believe it’s the performers fault, rather how the book is written. I do like the overall tone and sound of the performer.
I like the character Clark. The metal bird friend. It makes the story a bit more interesting but I am expecting more magic and mystery. Like maybe Clark will be Ozzie’s familiar. I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
I will finish the book. It’s bearable and it’s free. I’m not really enjoying it much honestly. Might listen to it to fall asleep. I see this is a series…I don’t believe I’ll be listening to the remainder. It’s just not what I was hoping for or expecting. It needs a lot more magic.

Revisado: 09-19-22
Ok, it was a little weird going between two performers. I was not expecting just chapter changes but more like interaction within the chapter. Hollis always voicing the women and BJ the
Men. Once I got used to it, it did enjoy it. I seriously hope there is more to come. Thank you for a great read!

I love this whole series. Seriously, it needs to be made into like a holiday special on Hallmark! I love that Spider the cat talks and now sugar does too. I like the mysteries that get solved. I’ve listened to the series several times. I never get tired of it. The mix of Christmas, magic, supernatural, and mystery is a fantastic combination. The Performance is fantastic. Different voicing for characters really helps bring the story to life. Please write more! Thanks!!!

Better than I expected
Revisado: 04-23-21
I read the only review at the time I downloaded this book. I’ve really gotten into the series and am enjoying it very much. When I read the review I was expecting a subpar book in the series but I was pleasantly surprised.
While the relationship and Emma’s desire for Daniel may seem quick as she has only been in Spellbound for a short time, sometimes love just happens like that. It is possible for a deep connection. As you read in the previous books, Emma and Daniel do have a connection that is different from previous relationships that Daniel is had. I would gather it’s because of how and why they met.
As far as what seems to be her methods of attempting to help Daniel and breaking the “spell” he is under...well I can’t say that they were horrible as this is a whole different world than the human world. Emma has to “think” and do things that are outside human norms.
I’m just saying that this book was much better than expected. Read it and form your own opinion. I sincerely enjoyed it and look forward to the next book.
