Historia
Five years ago, the mysterious and inscrutable head of Effective Engineering Solutions, Eli Glinn, led a mission to recover a gigantic meteorite - the largest ever discovered - from a remote island off the coast of South America. The mission ended in disaster when their ship, the Rolvaag, foundered in a vicious storm in the Antarctic waters and broke apart, sinking - along with its unique cargo - to the ocean floor. One hundred and eight crew members perished, and Eli Glinn was left paralyzed.

Ghost writers?
Revisado: 05-19-16
This, and the last Gideon crew book suck. It just seems like they were written by someone else. It just doesn't seem to have the style and skill of their other works.

Historia
The Torus is the most expensive machine ever created by humankind, run by the world's most powerful supercomputer. It is the brainchild of Nobel Laureate William North Hazelius. Will the Torus divulge the mysteries of the creation of the universe? Or will it, as some predict, suck the earth into a mini black hole? Or is the Torus a Satanic attempt, as a powerful televangelist decries, to challenge God Almighty on the very throne of Heaven? Twelve scientists under the leadership of Hazelius are sent to the remote mountain to turn it on.

Revisado: 01-24-08
Together as the Preston and Child team. Or on there own. Like Child's "Deep Storm" book. Or this book "Blasphemy" by Preston. These guys know how to tell great and smart storys.
Great book. Thank you Mr. Preston.

Among dog lovers, she's a legend for the risks she'll take to save an animal from abuse. Among her friends, Amy's heedless devotion is often cause for concern. To widower Brian McCarthy, whose commitment she can't allow herself to return, Amy's behavior is far more puzzling and hides a shattering secret.

I hate leaving a Koontz review like this
Revisado: 01-07-08
But I was so very disappointed. I think he's just cranking out stuff now. Not like the old days " the bad place" from the corner of his eye" etc where you got engrossed with the characters and the story.. They (his newer work) just fill incomplete, rushed and flat to me.
I'm a huge Koontz fan. And it hurts to leave a review like this.
wish he would concentrate on just one good story a year.

This was just an incredible story. T.L. Hines is now up there in my top 3 with Dean Koontz, and H.P. Lovecraft. Cant wait for his next book.

the narrator made this audiobook totally unbearable.. I would loved to have finished it. but I could not stand the guy monotone reading of the story. So I have no idea if the book is any good guess I'll buy the book and just read it myself.

Historia
Ariella Montero is seeking the true identities of her mother - and father and of herself. She's been taught literature, philosophy, science, and history, but she knows almost nothing about the real world and its complexities. Her world is one in which ghosts and vampires commune with humans, where Edgar Allan Poe and Jack Kerouac are role models, and where every time a puzzle seems solved, its last piece changes the entire picture.
