I listened to the first book in this series years ago and found it very entertaining so I just kept going. I’ve become a real fan of Nina and Eddie. It’s great going along for the ride to find these historic artifacts that are not supposed to even exist! Eddie and Nina are indestructible almost like some superheroes.

This book brings back some familiar characters and introduces you to some new villains. It’s a world wide wild ride. There’s lots and lots of the usual destruction and carnage on a global scale. You can count on Andy McDermott to keep you interested and even laugh out loud sometimes. I have to say using the artifacts from Revelation was great.

If you are a fan of Nina and Eddie you shouldn’t be disappointed

Overall the story was ok. I enjoy the stories about the Empires side of the battle and the back stories of the characters the author creates. If you've read or listened to other SW books you'll find this book moves kind of fast and I think simplifies some of the plot. However I'm glad I listened to it as I've liked SW for many years and I enjoy the evolving universe the many authors have created.

Would you consider the audio edition of Star Wars: Ahsoka to be better than the print version?

Audio and print version of this book would both be great.

Who was your favorite character and why?

So many characters that have important roles in the story which makes it hard for me to pick a favorite. Ahsoka is another example of a strong female lead Star Wars embraces throughout the various stories.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn't want to stop listening. found myself sitting in the car in my driveway not wantng to stop the story.

What did you love best about The Lions of Lucerne?

The main character Scott Harvath turned out to be very well written. I found myself totally wrapped up only after a few minutes of listening

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lions of Lucerne?

From beginning to end it was exciting.

Have you listened to any of Armand Schultz’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've never listened to this narrator but he has turned out to be one of my new favorites.

I just downloaded book two and cant wait to give it a listen. Looks like I will be listening to the entire series

Love this story

Once again I've listened to a Douglas Preston book and come away wanting more. This is my fourth or fifth time listening to this story and every time it just gets better. Wyman Ford is turning into one of my favorite characters. Going to listen to the Kracken Project again just to hear more from a great writer. Thanks for the great books. By the way who is the author "Preston Child"?

Where does Empire of Gold rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

One of the best stories I have istened to. All of the Andy McDermott books keep me entertained with bigger than life characters and adventure.

How could the performance have been better?

The one problem I had with this book was the narration, it was slow and all the characters were too similar. I can't figure out why they changed narrators. I had to actually spped up the playback on my iPod just to make the words flow a little better.

Any additional comments?

The entire series of books with Eddie Chase and Nina Wilde are very fun to listen to. Eddie Chase kind of reminds me of Dirk Pitt with a serious chip on his shoulder.
