absolutely awful

this book was absolutely terrible. save yourself the time and don't read this. the two characters were so incredibly immature and stupid, and their actions made no sense. Additionally, the narrator's voice was so whispery and hard to hear a lot of times. (spoilers ahead) I honestly don't know how they fell in love with each other because Jason has NO redeeming qualities... he was an asshole to the very end, and a lot of the stuff in this book was coerced and kinda rape-y in my opinion. if this guy was in real life I would've called the cops on him. and it was never explained WHY he wanted those flowers out of her yard... also Haley said she didn't want to be a pushover anymore but that's literally all she was. no character development, she only stood up for herself that one time in the beginning about the flowers. she lets Jason do so many bad things to her like taking her phone and keys while they were on vacation. the conflict was just pointless. they literally swapped sides after their trip together and it didn't make any sense why that was happening at all. and Jason was creepy and possessive and the grasshopper name was really condescending. I had to read this book on 1.75 speed and I was still bored. I regret reading it but thankfully I didn't spend any money on it thanks to audible escape

I loved everything about this book!! from the incredibly cute romance to the political side of things and Alex's fantastic character development! but honestly... how could he have gone through ALL THAT with Liam and NOT know????

I think Susannah Nix googled me, stalked me around for a little bit, and wrote a book about my life, just tweaking a few things to make it fit in her LA world. without giving away too much personal information, I am a chemical engineer from VA with a barista boyfriend who came from a military family... my boyfriend and I had a kick out of this book just seeing how many things related to the two of us. we even had the same exact conversation as Penny and Caleb did when he took her over to his house and told her not to clean it! It was a wonderfully cute read and I can't wait to read more of this series!

this was recommended to me by a friend but I can tell that we have very different tastes! I didn't like the way Emma emphasized certain words and made every sentence sound the same and Max didn't vary up his male voices at all! I couldn't keep track of who was talking! both the male characters in this book were really possessive and creepy and it seemed more like a story for the men with the female characters written around their wants. also the virgin fetish in this is pretty creepy too

I want to preface this by saying I don't have autism nor am I on the spectrum but I do have OCD and an anxiety disorder. This book made me feel so seen!! While our disorders didn't like up I strongly related to some of the symptoms Khai experienced like leaving the water glass on the table bc it means something even though it's just a water glass. The romance was amazing too and the sex scenes were so hot!!

I can't believe that ending!! I thoroughly enjoyed Kya's journey to adulthood though and was surprised a young inexperienced girl managed to navigate adult life as a child
