Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

Draws you in, you live his life and experiences.
Revisado: 02-12-16
The book started off so desperately that I almost quit but was drawn into his strange, exciting, sad life and could not tear myself away. I felt the effects of the drugs though I have never taken any illegal drug because the words were so powerful. I began to wonder close to the end how in the world she could end it in a way that I would say I enjoyed reading it. I loved the book.

Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Historia
Torn between the stirring example of his mother and the lurid romance of the bar, J.R. tried to forge a self somewhere in the center. But when it was time for J.R. to leave home, the bar became an increasingly seductive sanctuary, a place to return and regroup during his picaresque journeys. Time and again, the bar offered shelter from failure, rejection, heartbreak, and eventually from reality.

I bought tht audio now I HAVE TO BUY THE BOOK.
Revisado: 03-31-15
I wasn't sure I even liked the guy in the audio but I had to discover why he chose meditation and how he got it to work. The path was rocky but he hung in there almost to his detriment and succeeded. I have decided to write down his successful steps and see if it makes me happier (I'm pretty happy on my on but I am intrigued). A good and interesting read.

Couldn't put the book down.
Revisado: 03-24-15
I bought this as light entertainment but found myself intrigued with the characters and the story. The characters ranged from widows, independent women, barmaids, a dishonest and abandoned landlady, Rangers and a whole family of bad guys. This was a very enjoyable book!
