Historia
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Paw patrol for grownups.
Revisado: 02-21-25
I’m pretty sure I saw this episode of paw patrol once. This book was fun, but I’m convinced the author took a bet to see if he could make a paw patrol plot line work for adults. Even the chicken, and subsequent chicken rescue was included.

The last time Ray Sebastian got his hands on a magical artifact, it turned out to be the most dangerous thing in the world. One touch from this dagger bestows incredible abilities—Ray transforms from a wimp to a kung-fu master, his friend Clancy gets the ability to shoot like Robin Hood, and even Ray’s pokey dad instantly learns to drive like a NASCAR legend. Who wouldn’t want an artifact like that?

Historia
Conventional accounting uses the logical (albeit, flawed) formula: Sales - Expenses = Profit. The problem is, businesses are run by humans, and humans aren't always logical. Serial entrepreneur Mike Michalowicz has developed a behavioral approach to accounting to flip the formula: Sales - Profit = Expenses. Just as the most effective weight loss strategy is to limit portions by using smaller plates, Michalowicz shows that by taking profit first and apportioning only what remains for expenses, entrepreneurs will transform their businesses from cash-eating monsters to profitable cash cows.

Historia
What does it mean to be a man in the modern world? Throughout history, being a man has meant different things. Maybe being a man was about being a good hunter, or a good soldier, a good businessman, or maybe good with women. Hard Times Create Strong Men examines what it means to be a man in the modern world relative to money, sex, religion, and politics. This audiobook examines what worked and what doesn’t work based on proven history instead of feelings.

“I have written this book in 11 days....”
Revisado: 12-03-20
My lord if I had a penny every time he said that.... clearly he wrote it in 11 days and never reread it, or sent it to the editor. Even the audio sounds like he did it in his basement with no one there to help him sound out big words.... honestly he gets to the right answers but the lever of bravado, and the giant chip on his shoulder, and the “raging” ego really take away from the message. It reads like a giant rant, like what a guy who’s guessing what it means to be a man would say. Look I think a lot of people, men and women need to hear this message. I do agree with the general sentiment that men have been castrated by society. But having actually been raised by real strong men I can tell you this is just kinda right. I feel like if my Korean War veteran mechanic grandfather had a conversation which Stephan it would sound a lot like him just telling him to “calm down, love your woman, have faith, stand for what’s right and good, live life with intention, and calm the f* down” it would be interesting if this book was rewritten in 30 years when he’s 61 and if the message is full of so much babble, and hard opinions.
