Historia
In this book, Riley scrutinizes the perspectives of athletes on the opposing side of this debate, deconstructing their arguments with science, facts, and logic. She also asks what has happened to free speech and dissent in this country, where it now seems nearly impossible to have a well-reasoned debate. And in telling her story, Riley reveals what’s at stake if the truth-seekers remain silent about the injustices women face from radical agendas.

This young lady is awesome and is the future! I hope she turns her activism into political aspirations. She is meant great things and is a natural leader. This is a must read!

Historia
Leland Gaunt opens a new shop in Castle Rock called Needful Things. Anyone who enters his store finds the object of his or her lifelong dreams and desires: a prized baseball card, a healing amulet. In addition to a token payment, Gaunt requests that each person perform a little "deed", usually a seemingly innocent prank played on someone else from town. These practical jokes cascade out of control, and soon the entire town is doing battle with itself. Only Sheriff Alan Pangborn suspects that Gaunt is behind the population's increasingly violent behavior.

King writes and tells a good story!
Revisado: 05-07-24
This is one of my favorites of his if not thee favorite. While he usually has great narrators for novels, Will Patton and the great Frank Muller, King knocks this one out of the park by himself. Honestly he should read more of his own works, especially those taking place in Maine as he is from there and has the voices and accents perfect.

Great series!
Revisado: 05-06-24
I wish I had found this series earlier. While it’s starting to get dated as far as the technology and other cultural references mentioned it’s still an enjoyable listen. Later versions of his writings are read by the author or Steven Weber but I’ve always found this narrator my favorite. He even looks like the idea of Win that is in my head when reading these.

Historia
A down-to-earth global pop star. A deeply spiritual, cerebral powerhouse. A famously outspoken introvert. For her millions of fans, and the few unacquainted, defining rock luminary Alanis Morissette is an exercise in dichotomies and nuance. And though her most formidable traits are seemingly at odds with one another, they are, oddly enough, completely emblematic of all of us: complex, conflicting, and, most importantly, ever evolving. With her striking command of language and profound emotional fluency, the 46-year-old covers an enormous amount of personal ground with listeners.

Love it!
Revisado: 01-20-23
I’m the odd man out, literally! I know Alanis was supposed to relate to angry young ladies but “You Oughta Know” resonated quite well with this formally angry young man at a chaotic time in my life and I have been known to sing it on karaoke from time to time changing the pronouns and a few other words as well. I know she isn’t everybody’s cup of tea but I have always loved her music, especially her lyrics. Great story!

Historia
Yes, George Carlin is here with more of what he did better than any other comic: uproarious observations, laser-targeted crankiness, linguistic legerdemain, and inspired weirdness. ("If the shoe fits, get another just like it." "When you sneeze, all the numbers in your head go up by one.") Napalm & Silly Putty is just what his fans have been waiting for—another generous helping of notions, nonsense, assertions, assumptions, mockery, merriment, silliness, sarcasm, and, to be sure, plenty of disturbing references and toxic alienation.

A treasure!
Revisado: 01-20-23
I miss this man so much! I’ve heard most all this in his stand up but collected in book form is awesome. No laughing audience to distract or delay. Really wish he was still with us to see what he’d say about the world today. First thing would be, “I told you so!”. Looking back at all his routines it is amazing to see the vast majority of his predictions coming true. It makes you wonder or worry about what yet lies ahead for us.

Historia
The War Between the States is synonymous with romance, tragedy, bravery, and lost causes. The terrible war nearly tore the nation apart. The United States survived, though at a terrible cost. Today, more than 150 years after the end of the Civil War, people are still fascinated by this pivotal point in history. Writers, too, find this a fruitful period to investigate. In Civil War Fantastic, some of science fiction’s finest writers take us back to this turbulent time with their own special visions of what might have been.

So thankful I found this again!
Revisado: 01-15-23
I have this collection on cassette tape and unfortunately time and multiple plays are not kind to that um, older technology. I absolutely love this collection of stories. Have been dedicated to researching the Civil War since childhood and love stories that deal with the supernatural. I recommend this collection to anyone, Civil War and supernatural enthusiast or not! This is probably one the best performed audiobooks out there. All performances are excellent but some just knock it out of the park. Makes it feel at times like your are watching a Civil War movie and just not looking at the screen. The accents, the inflection, the pronunciation, all extremely well done. There is really only one story that I find wanting, the rest are awesome and would hard pressed to pick a favorite. Enjoy!

Shaken by the sight, Joe starts to investigate what he hopes in an isolated incident.

Not my favorite Joe Pickett story…,
Revisado: 12-21-22
Not my favorite Joe Pickett story but still entertaining. A little too “woo woo” , as the title character might say. Absolutely love the first three in the series but I was left a little wanting with this one, although some of the characters in this one could be people I’ve known or met. On to the next novel in the series!

My introduction to the Joe Pickett series
Revisado: 12-14-22
I started this series the way I prefer not to but unfortunately happens a lot, on the third book. I didn’t honestly mind because I fell in love with this book. I have since listened to more of the series and have started listening in the proper order. This book got me hooked on all the characters, Joe and Mary Beth are awesome as main characters but the character that really reeled me in was Nate. Nate is one of my favorite bad good guys!

So glad I’m able to listen to them in order now. I started this series with Winterkill and unfortunately bounced around at first due to availability and time. I can’t wait to listen to Winterkill again after the first two in the series when my favorite supporting character is introduced into the story. Wish I’d started these a long time ago.

Myron Bolitar at it again!
Revisado: 12-05-22
Great book! Love this series! Loved this narrator, not sure why he dropped out and Steven Weber took over as the voice of Myron Bolitar, both are excellent readers but I prefer Marosz a little more. I always thought by his pic on the packaging he’d make a great Win if they made movies or television shows from the books.
