My god. This book was SO good! I’ve read almost all of Lisa Jewells books, and this one is definitely at the top of my favorites list. It’s a crazy, sad, and dark story, that takes you on a wild ride. I couldn’t stop listening, and as usual with her books, the narrators were fantastic as well! It’s for sure one that you shouldn’t pass up!

Historia
The forest is my happy place. A chance to get away from my stifling apartment, the sweat of the city, a job I hate. A Sunday morning spent hiking in the woods with my dog is a dream come true...until it becomes a waking nightmare. I don't see the hole until it's too late. Then I'm at the bottom of it, staring up at the ground 12 feet above me. A stupid accident. Or was it? Because soon, someone's bringing me food and water. Someone who doesn't want me to see his face. Someone who knows what I did.

Annoying narrator!
Revisado: 05-28-23
Like most others have commented, the narrators voice makes it REALLY hard to listen to the story. I actually stopped for a minute and came to the reviews just to see if I was the only one bothered by it. I definitely wasn’t. Lol She sounds like a whiny Kourtney Kardashian. She also constantly over accentuates the last word of each sentence in a weird way. The main character in general is annoying and whiny, but something about the narration choices just drive me crazy!

Revisado: 03-26-23
This is SUCH a good book! I found it because of the fact that they’re in the middle of making it into a movie with a great cast. The story sounded good, so I decided to read it first. Boy am I glad I did! I could not stop listening, and finished it in a day. It’s extremely well written, with a fantastic narrator. The whole story takes you on a wild adventure, with so many funny parts, and a good cry at the end. I just can’t say enough about how much I love this book, and I can’t wait to see how the movie turns out. Definitely don’t pass this one up if you’re looking for a good listen/story.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Wow! This book is REALLY well done! Jennette is definitely a gifted writer, AND narrator! It’s a very personal, and heartbreaking story, but at the same time you find yourself laughing at all the funny things she says, and the way she reads them. I’m just so glad she shared this with us. She did a fantastic job, and I hope she continues to write in the future. :)

I’ve been waiting for this book for a long time, and it definitely didn’t disappoint!! Ashley should be SO proud of herself. :) It was a fantastic story, with really good narrators. I’m just hoping she’s working on a follow up book, because it left off in a way that suggests that the story isn’t over. I REALLY want to hear more!
