I discovered Heather Wallace through her book, Confessions of a Timid Rider, and her follow-up up book, Adulting with Horses. I also loved Girl Forward, about Heather's adventures covering the Mongol Derby. Back Door Horse is the first fiction work by Heather that I have read. The book is both a frothy feel-good romance and a story of self-discovery and reinvention

This series would be improved by a bit of fact checking. I get the feeling the author knows a little but not nearly enough about horses, riding, and animal husbandry

This is one of the most poorly written horse books I've read. Riding 'tournaments'???? Bitter smell? Proper and safe horsemanship? Utter nonsense! With a bit of editing from an experienced horse person, this could have been a good book.
