A psychological Thriller that is terrifyingly real

I read a lot of psychological thrillers. Though this one was a little more mellow in delivering shocking twists & turns it had a realistic vibe that was truly terrifying. Imagine a Doctor who's twisted obsession coutld alter your whole world.. The pace was easy to follow and kept me engaged the whole time, I found the narrator hard to understand at times, I had to listen closely for whatever reason sometimes those British accents don't go over my speakers very well but headphones made that a easy fix.

Imaginative and refreshingly original

I read this book first & was so intrigued by the concept I was excited to pick it up again in audio format. I have never read anything like it before. It was dark but amusing at the same time & then really dark. I thought the narrarrator did a great job, not sure why some took issue. I did enjoy the story more the 1st time around but that's probly because the 2nd time in I already knew what was going on.

Wow! The subject matter is difficult but the story is engaging! It was based off a real event that took place I believe in the 70's & the author took her time with years of research before she braved the turbulent waters. I couldn't imagine why one would take offense?? White suprimesty is very real & if you don't like this book because it offends you maybe you need to reevaluate why you feel that way

This is a tragic yet mesmerizing story of addiction, mental illness, abuse and a lost child trying to find acceptance and security in a dark and dangerous world. This book made me dig a little bit deeper and touched on the fact that what most people consider appropriate life choices is not a one-size-fits-all.

Wow, upon reading the reviews I thought that this was going to be a great book. Boy was I wrong. Half the time I had no clue what was going on. The characters jump around so much your head spins. I couldn't finish this one.

Wow I'm usually a fan of historical fiction. I really wanted to enjoy this book, but frankly I found it slow and really quite dull. There were parts that peaked my interest but those were few and far between. In truth I stopped this book with only 2hrs left.

If your looking for something to live up to the Potatoe Factory trilogy forget Sylvia. This book is hard to follow & bombarded with religous zealoty. I hated this book!!! The narrator's voice drove me mad & the story line was boring & hard to follow. I never write reveiws (as you can probably tell) but I would hate for someone to try this thinking they were getting typical, wonderful, full of life & humor Bryce. Not so with this one. Don't waste your credit.
