Love the history, but believe the story could’ve been told in one book rather than three.

Wonderful
Revisado: 05-22-23
A wonderful tale and listening experience. Though there’s much tragedy about the story, sometimes the story drags, and the heroine and her choices can be frustrating, overall I quite enjoyed it and the long, intriguing look into the medieval time period. I will be reading more of this author's books.

Very different from the movie. Far more bones to this story. But still it did not need to be this long.

EXCELLENT UNEXPECTED CONCLUSION TO THE SERIES
Revisado: 12-26-22
Though we will have no more tales from this amazingly talented author for her having passed, the unforeseen conclusion to this series could not be more fulfilling. Such a loss for her family—and readers. Much gratitude for many hours of beautiful escape amid the medieval years.

Historia
When the Black Death enters England through the port in Dorsetshire in June 1348, no one knows what manner of sickness it is - or how it spreads and kills so quickly. The Church cites God as the cause, and fear grips the people as they come to believe that the plague is a punishment for wickedness. But Lady Anne of Develish has her own ideas. Educated by nuns, Anne is a rarity among women, being both literate and knowledgeable. With her brutal husband absent from the manor when news of this pestilence reaches her, she looks for more sensible ways to protect her people than confession.

GRIPPING STORY BEAUTIFULLY NARRATED
Revisado: 12-17-22
The Last Hours is an excellent tale set during the 14th century pestilence. I loved the heroine’s strength and godly heart and the hero’s fortitude—and so much more. A great and realistic cast of characters. The narrator is superb.

BREATHTAKING CONCLUSION
Revisado: 12-17-22
Absolutely loved the conclusion to The Last Hours. A strong woman and an uncommon hero during the tragic and turbulent pestilence kept me up into the early morning hours. The narration was superb. Bravo!
