Amazing Book! This is a great story with rich characters. In my top 10 for sure!

First off, I love that it is read by the author. I feel like that helps you understand the characters and voices and I really enjoyed it! I hadn’t read Mitch Albom for over a decade but this book was given to me by a friend. I loved it! Loved the characters, the storyline and the message. The story is told from the perspective of truth. In other words…..Truth is the narrator. I didn’t know how I was going to feel about that at first, but I ended up really liking that too. It is just a great book! It is warm and heartfelt and it is a new perspective on books about World War II and the concentration camps. Just listen to it!you will like it!

Interesting Book, Abrupt Ending

This was a really good and interesting book. I enjoyed the adventures of Alaska. Living in the bush would have been dangerous and exciting. I felt like it was an abrupt ending, but the book was really interesting and I would recommend it.

Great Book in the Will Robie Series!

I really liked this book and I like the storyline. I like the characters too. If is anything I don't care for......as much as I like Ron McClarty, his voice seems too old to play Will Robie and Orlagh Cassidy's southern accent is just a little too much. They would be good voices for people in leadership in these stories who are a little older.

Great Story with great characters & fly fishing

As an avid fly fisherman I had high hopes and low expectations for this book. I was not disappointed and was really pleased with the book overall. The main character is an all around good dude who needed a change of scenery and headed to the west. I really liked the characters in this book. Some of them were rough around the edges and a little salty, but that added to the enjoyment of the book. I was worried that the storyline wouldn't be very good but I was interested because of the topic. I LOVE fly fishing and I LOVE murder mysteries. This had a great storyline but it also talked about some of the nuances of fly fishing and the characters who participate in the sport. This was one of my favorite listens and is in my top 10 fiction books.

Another great one by Ronald Balson!

Ronald Balson is quickly becoming my favorite author. This story was so good and I keep trying to listen whenever I could. The book is suspenseful and the characters are rich and warm (and evil in some cases). I really like this Narrator as well. Great accents, voices and emotion. Great book!

Fantastic book!!!! A top 10 for me for sure!

This is a fantastic memoir! His voice is a little gravelly from time to time and hard to listen to at times. But, I wouldn't have it any other way! To hear his stories in his New York City accent is great. This book has great stories that illustrate the benefits of hard work, initiative, taking risks, generosity, helping others and doing the right thing and how they can all come back to benefit you. If you love business and hearing success stories, you will love this book!

Great Listen on Perseverance and connection.

This was a really good book, I couldn't stop listening. He was definitely rough around the edges at first, maybe even all the way through. He won me over with his enthusiasm, honesty, perseverance and genuineness. I learned a lot through this book and will definitely recommend it to others. Especially those who are earlier in their careers.

Fantastic Book! In my top 5 favorites.

This book was so great! It has a great storyline that kept me hooked from the beginning. The narrator is amazing! I love WWII books and this one is one of the best!!! The story had a lot of tense moments but I didn't feel like any of them were overdone or too far fetched. I just loved it! I am now going to check out some other books from this author and hope they are as good. I would also highly recommend Beneath a Scarlet Sky.

Very good Rhys Bowen Book!

I really like the Rhys Bowen books I have listened to. This one may be my favorite. I also really liked The Nightingale. This has a great story that alternates between the daughter (in the late 60’s/early 70’s I believe) and the father at the tail-end of WWII. It is a fascinating story on the part of the daughter and father. Some of the parts of the storyline are a little far-fetched, but not enough that I am going to rate it less. I have two things the I would have liked to have heard: 1. There are two narrators, a male and a female one, I would have liked to have the female voice on all of the female parts and the male speak male lines. 2. The male narrator is really good but he sounds like he is 70 speaking the part of a 35 year old, and his female voice is really not the best (see comment #1). Otherwise, great book and great story!

Decent story and entertaining. A little too dramatic
