Historia
With a little help from a monk (who tells us how our mind works) and a neuroscientist (who tells us how our brain works), Ruby Wax answers every question you've ever had about evolution, thoughts, emotions, the body, addictions, relationships, sex, kids, the future and compassion. Filled with witty anecdotes from Ruby's own life, and backed up by smart science and practical mindfulness exercises, How to be Human is the only manual you need to help you upgrade your mind as much as you've upgraded your iPhone.

Insightful, witty, and entertaining!

I loved this book. I didn't feel like i was reading a book- well listening to a book... I felt like I was being let in on a conversation explaining to me why i am not my fault; from a science perspective, enter the neuroscientist, from a philosophical perspective, monk, and then Ruby being the translator, making it so i could understand and more importantly making me feel like i needed and wanted to know all this information while not forgetting to smile and laugh along the way! Insightful, witty, and entertaining!

Historia
They say you can’t go home again. But when her father is diagnosed with aggressive lung cancer and her mother with atypical Alzheimer’s, New York-based actress Kate Mulgrew returns to her hometown in Iowa to spend time with her parents and care for them in the time they have left. The months Kate spends with her parents in Dubuque - by turns turbulent, tragic, and joyful - lead her to reflect on each of their lives and how they shaped her own.

Heartwarming, touching, and funny. A story about relationships, family, but most importantly love. You will laugh and you will cry. What a delight to have it read brilliantly by the author.
