Historia
The resurgence of viral clips from the long-running hit reality television show America’s Next Top Model left fans and foes alike wondering–how did a show so outrageous and at times offensive ever get on the air? For years, Americans dutifully watched as contestants faced uncomfortable situations regarding their race and gender, body-shaming, stereotyping, and problematic photoshoots. The show, which first premiered in 2003 and ran for 24 cycles, was helmed by supermodel Tyra Banks–the first Black female host of a smash network reality show.

Great. No notes.

Great length breezed through this. The content was full - no filler. Guests were great and made sense for the section they were in. Favorite part- talking about RuPaul parallels and the casting. Favorite guest convo- The Janice Dickinson- could listen to her for hours.

Historia
In partnership with Peter’s Yard petersyard.com - Cheese is famously a smelly food! Certain cheeses such as Stinking Bishop or Epoisses are notorious for their powerful aromas. Some people love the smell of cheese, others loathe it. I discuss this striking aspect of cheese with Professor Barry Smith, director of University of London’s Centre for the Study of the Senses, and Josh Windsor, Associate Director, Caves at Murray’s Cheese. Very good info and a smart banter with the guest. The host does a great job filling in any blanks about the subject. Great adjectives and a good flow of info. Smelly cheese is a good thing. Good to know.

Historia
There are three rules Brooke Sullivan must follow as a new nurse practitioner at a men’s maximum-security prison: 1) Treat all prisoners with respect. 2) Never reveal any personal information. 3) Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates. But none of the staff at the prison knows Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary’s most notorious and dangerous inmates.

Like it. A little slow in the middle but worth it in the end. Twists were good. I liked it.

Historia
The visionary writer and director of Get Out, Us, and Nope, and founder of Monkeypaw Productions, curates this groundbreaking anthology of all-new stories of Black horror, exploring not only the terrors of the supernatural but the chilling reality of injustice that haunts our nation. Featuring an introduction by Peele and an all-star roster of beloved writers and new voices, Out There Screaming is a master class in horror, and—like his spine-chilling films—its stories prey on everything we think we know about our world . . . and redefine what it means to be afraid.

A let down for sure
Revisado: 10-14-23
I wouldn’t call this horror- maybe alternate reality. Most of the stories are regular stuff and then the end had a little twist. Even the ones that had a little promise- like the Babysnatchers one- failed to deliver. So glad these authors had an opportunity for this platform. But I think the foreword set them up. It gave me high hopes for the type of stories: individual tortures-mental and/or physical- and the actual stories are more supernatural stuff. I gave reduced stars because This felt more Twilight Zone-y than horror. The narration was good.

Historia
Mary Lambert has always felt safe and protected on her beloved island of Martha's Vineyard. Her great-great-grandfather was an early English settler and the first deaf islander. Now, over a hundred years later, many people there - including Mary - are deaf, and nearly everyone can communicate in sign language. Mary has never felt isolated. She is proud of her lineage. But recent events have delivered winds of change.

The sorry kinda dragged in the middle but I liked it overall
Revisado: 09-19-22
Interesting subject matter and the characters were easy to follow. The narrator voice was youthful but not childish. My only disappointment was that the big moments got the same amount of time as the small ones. There were moments that couldve had a whole chapter that seemed glossed over.

Great voice and easy to follow. Inspirational story snippets. My favorite takeaway is earmuffs. Listen to people but screen what advice you take heed to.
