Spoiler alert. Typical young girl gets married to an abusive husband. Wants out but can’t unless it’s husbands idea. Divorce. Warns next fiancé of his abusiveness. End of story. Yadda yadda yadda. Although Julia does a great job at narrating, it’s the story that is uneventful.

My first read of JT ~ what a twister!

This is my first audio book by JT Ellison. The reason I choose this book was because it was narrated by Julia Whelan. She never disappoints her readers and brings out the best in any book. The story has lots lots of twists and turns. Not meant to be a spoilers but this storyline … it could happen!

Wow! Great listening , as always Julia gives a great performance. My first time with listen to this author’s book and most certainly won’t be my last. Enjoyed every word! Spoiler…glad dog was ok!

Wimpy whiny nauseating

First time listening to this narrator and about 10 minutes into the story I was ready to return it. It was by far(!!!!) the worst ~ most awful audiobook I have ever listened to. If I could have given zero stars for performance, I would have!!! I am an avid listener to audiobooks and will usually listen regardless but this was like listening to fingernail’s on a chalkboard the whole time. I couldn’t wait to get to the end. The narrator read Donna’s part as if she was some teenage whiny whimpering high pitched (…). The main character was weak and sounded submissive, almost nauseating to listen to. You have got to be kidding? Really? Story~ Must have been a quick write as it didn’t have depth. Future reference ~ I won’t listen to this narrator again no matter who wrote the book!

Stop with the music

I listened to chapter three and quit. I couldn’t stand the music in the back ground. I’m sure the story was great as always from Sparks but just couldn’t deal with the music. I’ll read the actual book instead.

Great story; but…

I have enjoyed listening to Nora Roberts novels now for a few years. This by far was the worst narration I have ever heard. All the male voices sounded identical. Lawyer voice sounded like a seductive tramp. Voices were raspy. Carli sounded male. I am sure narrator is a lovely woman but this profession … is not for her.

I picked this book only bc it was narrated by January LaVoy. As always, she delivered an awesome read. Her attention to details and voice changes made this book worth listening too. However, the male narrator was choppy and seemed to have a period after every word he read. His words did not flow well at all. BC if his narration, I couldn’t wait until the book was over! This was a book frequently recited with biblical scriptural readings and faith.

My favorite narrator; however…

When looking for a great book to listen to, I always look for Julia as the narrator, as she is the best of the best. This book didn’t have your normal AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY… so it was a nice change. I skipped through the poems at the beginning of each chapter as I thought these were a distraction and … I really was not interested. I also skipped the end credits of …THIS IS HOW I CAME UP WITH THE STORY LINE FOR THE BOOK…again, I wasn’t interested. As for the rest of the book, awesome as always. With her excellent voice make overs; Julia could narrate the worst written book EVER and make it a good book to listen to.

Hard to follow at first but keep reading…

It’s worth the read! Spoiler alert… why she’s kills off one of the main characters is beyond me. But then a few chapters more in the book, you find out why. Exceptional performance as this was the main reason I bought the book was because of Julia Whelan! Way to go Julia!!!!

Awesome performance!

I own numerous (!!!) books written by Nora Roberts and was very reluctant in purchasing this series, not only bc of a new type of storyline (magic) and listening to a new performer; it was some of the reviews which kept me from purchasing this series earlier. OH MY … WOW! Nora brought the countryside to life with her detailed information and well written script and with Barrie Kreinik’s narration… Barrie just became one of my favorite performers! She was stunning! This was truly an awesome read! I’m tired of listening to detailed lust sex storylines in books so this was refreshing and cleanly written. Don’t judge books by some “cheesy” reviews, read the story for yourself … then judge the book. Can’t wait until book 3!!!!
