Just okay
Revisado: 11-05-23
I bought this because I like the narrator Joe Hempel. The story was just okay. I got tired of the author telling me how angry the father was and how sarcastic the mother was. No need to repeat yourself over and over again, we get it.

I liked it.
Revisado: 07-02-23
I’m glad I didn’t read any reviews before listening to this. I thought it was really good. If you are not used to listening to a story performed by a full cast it’s quite different from a single narrator. There is a lot going on in these performances, including sound effects and actors speaking at the same time. It is definitely not a brainless listen, you have to remain engaged.

Great story.
Revisado: 03-09-23
I really enjoyed this book and it is probably my favorite Alice Feeney book so far. I thought that I had it figured out half way through and was going to be really annoyed if I was right. I am so glad I wasn’t.

Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

I thought it was okay
Revisado: 09-10-21
I enjoyed the narration and I chose this book because of that. The story was sad and difficult to listen to. I think this was because I didn’t care about any of the characters. I didn’t like any of them, they had no substance. A book should become your world while listening to or reading it. I couldn’t wait for this one to end.

Revisado: 01-21-21
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Steven Crossley’s narration was fantastic and perfect for this story. I was pulled into the tale of 12 year old David right from the start. I was so engrossed that reality felt like a dream and I was in anticipation each day to immerse myself into the story. Thank you John Connolly for a wonderful ride!

Ugh! Waste of a credit
Revisado: 04-30-20
First third of the book had potential then I felt as if I were listening to a story written by someone who had never picked up a book before. It is a work of unrestrained, incomprehensible fancy. What made this experience worse was the narration and the editing. The narrator’s cadence was off beat and the recording was poorly patched together. Very disappointing.

I am glad audible let me return it.
Revisado: 11-19-19
The first 50% of this book was good but then it all went downhill fast. The author kept repeating himself as if that was key in getting the message across. I’m not a big fan of books that try to shove a message down your throat, especially if that message is a religious one dressed up as a horror novel.
