Historia
Sergeant Gastovsky—Gas to everyone but his superior officers—never wanted to be a soldier. Far from it. But when a con goes wrong and he needs a place to lay low for a while, he finds himself wearing the power armor of the augmented infantry. After three years on a six-year contract, Gas has found his groove running low-level cons and various illegal activities that make him good money on the side. He’s the guy who can get you what you need. But he’s always had his eye out for a big score—the one that might set him up for life after the military.

Super fun
Revisado: 03-10-22
A super fun heist book set in the backdrop of military scifi! The character interactions are great, there's plenty of tension and explosions, and I really enjoyed the narration. If you enjoyed Mammay's PLANETSIDE series, you'll love this book too.

Historia
Following his mission on Cappa, Colonel Carl Butler returns to a mixed reception. To some, he is a do-or-die war hero. To the other half of the galaxy, he’s a pariah. Forced into retirement, he has resettled on Talca Four where he’s now Deputy VP of Corporate Security, protecting a high-tech military company on the corporate battlefield - at least, that’s what the job description says. Really, he’s just there to impress clients and investors. It’s all relatively low risk - until he’s entrusted with new orders.

Just as exciting as the first book!
Revisado: 09-10-19
If you enjoyed Butler at his Butler-est in Planetside, you're going to love Spaceside! Now retired from the army, and trying to come to terms with what he did on Cappa, Butler is thrown into a world of corporate espionage. With some really nice twists and turns, and Butler's fantastic voice, Spaceside is just as exciting as Planetside, with an added chunk of retrospection that makes it a refreshing sequel instead of just another copy/paste adventure. And my favorites, Plazz and Ganos, return for fun and banter, too!
Like Planetside, RC Bray is the absolute perfect narrator to bring Butler's voice alive <3

Historia
Hundreds of years ago, the last humans on Earth boarded the Exodus Fleet in search of a new home among the stars. After centuries spent wandering empty space, their descendants were eventually accepted by the well-established species that govern the Milky Way. But that was long ago. Today, the Exodus Fleet is a living relic, the birthplace of many, yet a place few outsiders have ever visited. As many Exodans leave for alien cities or terrestrial colonies, those who remain are left to ponder their own lives and futures.

Ties together beautifully!
Revisado: 02-23-19
Although the beginning felt a little disjointed with so many POV characters, the book tied everything together so beautifully by the end and left my heart full. Best of the trilogy!

Historia
War heroes aren't usually called out of semi-retirement and sent to the far reaches of the galaxy for a routine investigation. So when Colonel Carl Butler answers the call from an old and powerful friend, he knows it's something big - and he's not being told the whole story. A high councilor's son has gone MIA out of Cappa Base, the space station orbiting a battle-ravaged planet. The young lieutenant had been wounded and evacuated - but there's no record of him having ever arrived at hospital command.

Couldn't put it down!
Revisado: 08-02-18
I started listening to this book the day it came out and finished it the next day. If you like space ships, aliens, wise-cracking MCs, lots of action, and a good mystery, this is the book for you! Plenty of surprises, and Butler is a well-rounded character with a good sense of humor. I especially love the scenes with the reporter, Plazz, because Butler is at his wise-crackingist :) Plus, RC Bray as narrator is the *perfect* grumpy old colonel. Definitely a must-listen!

Historia
In this sequel to Mechanical Failure, Captain Rogers, despite his best attempts to do otherwise, has become the acting admiral of the 331st Meridan fleet. His first task: worrying. A lot. The rival Thelicosan fleet, under the influence of bad intelligence, a forbidden romance, and a communication officer with an eardrum injury, is about to break a 200-year-old nonaggression pact. They have offered a vague, easily misinterpreted message: "We're invading." Rogers isn't sure, but he thinks that's probably bad.

Laugh Out Loud Funny!
Revisado: 10-20-17
Audible screwed up and let me download this book a month early, and I am so glad it did! Communication Failure was just as laugh out loud funny as Mechanical Failure, but with a slightly more mature Rogers this time (especially by the end). There are still some groan-worthy jokes, and I wasn't a huge fan of Quinn's POV, but Deet gets his own POV in this one, and Rogers not only gets punched in the face a lot (yay Viking!), he also gets kicked in the face. And let's be honest, if anyone deserves a kick to the face, it's probably Rogers, although perhaps not at that particular moment.
Plus Tunger rides a lion and saves the day. Tunger and Deet are definitely my favorites <3
If you're having a bad day, this will be just the book to cheer you up :)
