Historia
The body lying on a cold steel slab bears all the hallmarks of the Chicago Butcher. There's a cruel slash across her throat, deep enough to sever the carotid artery, and a small crescent carved into her right breast. Her delicate features are painfully familiar to Ash Marcel, once a rising star in the Chicago PD. But though the victim resembles his former fiancee, Remi Walsh, he knows it's not her. Though Remi escaped a serial killer five years ago, her father died trying to save her. Grief and guilt caused her to pull away from the man she loved.

Really good book
Revisado: 05-07-24
I love it when I come across a book that surprises me. This was a great listen and I wish it were part of a series.
The book itself was interesting and easy to get hooked on. The plot was surprising this is one of the rare occasions that I could not determine how it was going to end.
I’ll be looking for more books by this author.

Historia
On a rainy, cold day in November, young Victor - a nomadic, scrappy teenager who's run away from home - sets out to sell as much marijuana as possible to the throng of WTO demonstrators determined to shut down the city. With the proceeds, he plans to buy a plane ticket and leave Seattle forever, but it quickly becomes clear that the history-making 50,000 antiglobalization protestors - from anarchists to environmentalists to teamsters - are testing the patience of the police, and what started out as a peaceful protest is threatening to erupt into violence.

Impressive imagery
Revisado: 04-27-24
While listening to this book, it was easy for me to imagine the screens unfolding and even made me a little angry at times due to the description of how the protestors were treated.
Although the book started a little slow, I think it offers a good look into people hearts and how they fight personal battles every day and how a single decision or action can change a person’s life forever.

Did not disappoint
Revisado: 03-22-24
The story was good and I was not able to foreshadow the end like I was in the first book. I had my suspicions, but I was wrong. I like how the author gives enough back story so that even if you have not had the pleasure of reading Books 1 & 2 you will still be able to follow the story without issue. Great book with some pretty good surprises.

This was a really good book. The story was one that if I were reading instead of listening, I would not want to put the book down. Mystery, greed, betrayal , and love all in one book. I definitely recommend it.

Pretty Good
Revisado: 03-21-24
I enjoyed the story. The audio was a little dull but if you can get past that, the storyline is pretty good. I enjoy Joe’s hunt for the truth and applauded his love for his brother.
