What a beautiful tale of life, death & the power of love. I cried quite a bit while listening to this book but I don’t regret it. If you are not sure if you want to purchase this title let me be the 1 to persuade you.

To Angie, nothing tastes more like summer than her Nona's fried green tomatoes. Eager to add the recipe to the menu at the County Seat, she's found the perfect produce supplier - her sous chef Estebe's cousin, Javier. Just one problem: ladies' man Javier's current hot tomato Heather has turned up dead, and he's the prime suspect. Revisado: 08-24-23
Nice, easy listen. I really liked the twist at the end. I enjoy that the relationship between Angie & Ian is more than sex. I missed Ian’s brogue, what happened there?

Historia
The tiny, well-ordered seaside village of Merham holds little to interest the adventurous - except for Arcadia, the breathtaking art deco house perched above the shoreline. Attracted to this magical place, young Lottie Swift surrenders freely to its temptations and ultimately must face the hard consequences of her actions. Years later, another young woman comes to Merham. A designer hired to make over the now-empty Arcadia, Daisy Parsons seeks a new beginning, as Lottie once did. Fleeing a broken relationship, Daisy finds refuge at Arcadia, and something more - a love she thought she would never know again.

Ignore the bad reviews
Revisado: 05-26-23
I found only 1 downfall to this book. The way that the story bounces back & forth between timelines. Maybe if I were reading the book instead of listening it would be different. In this case I found myself a little confused a few times.
On the other hand, I found it easy to become emotionally invested in the story of the characters lives. I’m sure part of it is because I was also a single parent to an infant. I will not ignore Jojo Moyes talent. The ability she has to bring her characters to life should not be overlooked. Michelle Ford’s ability to tell a story also deserves a mention. I think you ladies did a wonderful job with Windfallen.

Historia
It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.

Historia
When single mother Liv is commissioned to paint a mural in a 100-year-old lighthouse on a remote Scottish island, it's an opportunity to start over with her three daughters - Luna, Sapphire, and Clover. When two of her daughters go missing, she's frantic. She learns that the cave beneath the lighthouse was once a prison for women accused of witchcraft. The locals warn her about wildlings, supernatural beings who mimic human children, created by witches for revenge. Liv is told wildlings are dangerous and must be killed.

Revisado: 01-31-23
This is my 1st C. J. Cooke novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I really loved the melding of mystery, fantasy & fiction. When I came close to the end I stopped to take a break because I was not ready for it to be over. The narrator also did a lovely job. I will check out this authors other novels. I hope to find the other books just as good.

Historia
This week's episode was by far one of the most difficult to record for several reasons. First, I recorded it during a terrible case of bronchitis. LOL, I actually felt like Steely dealing with her asthma. Lucky for y'all, I edited out (most of) my wheezing. The second reason is the scene is intense. It packs a punch, and it contains that moment when all seems doomed for Steely and Cuff. Will they prevail? Can they catch the bad guy? Who is the culprit? And lastly, this episode concludes the first season of the Cat Clayton Mysteries. Bringing How to Leash a Thief, book 1 of the Steuthin' in ...

When adoptee Lucille Jones comes to town researching her roots, Betsy Devonshire notices that she bears a remarkable resemblance to local Jan Henderson. Betsy introduces the look-alikes and they quickly hit it off. But then Jan's wealthy great-aunt is found dead, helped to her grave by a stiff metal wire—a double-zero knitting needle, in fact. Just like the kind Jan knits with.

I Miss Godwin
Revisado: 01-11-22
The new narrator doesn't seem to have the range displayed in the previous books. I found myself getting a bit confused between characters at times. Ms Crawford did not do a bad job, just not what I expected. Most of all, I missed Godwin's over the top spirt. As the Monday bunch would say, "Godwin is just the limit."

Just 1 question...
Revisado: 02-12-21
Are we supposed to HATE Violet? I have hung in to this point because the writing is good, the story line is interesting & the performance is well done. I figured Violet would grow as a character over time, ya know, like most real people. To be fair, I am writing this review halfway through the book. I'm trying to hold out hope that the shift in Violet's absurdly immature personality will occur after she finally faces her ex & learns the truth about her roll in the supernatural aspect of her life. I want to continue because I really want to see where the author take the storyline but there is 1 problem. I HATE VIOLET! Like, to the point I have to turn the book off for awhile until I forget how much I hate her. She doesn't really seem to try to be good at her job. Instead, she just chases after Doc & puts up with the misogynistic b/s from co-worker & now her boss. Then complains about her job being in jeopardy. She is completely disrespectful to the police detective because of his "alfa male" attitude & just now seemed to realize that her actions may actually effect his job. She denies what's right in front of her & makes poor & dangerous choices constantly. She lies to pretty much everyone all the time but expects everyone around her to be understanding & forgiving... I know she is supposed to be a 30- something mother of 2 but she acts like a 14 year old spoiled brat with daddy issues. Please let her become less annoying so I can go on with this series.
