In the early 18th century, the Pirate Republic was home to some of the great pirate captains, including Blackbeard, "Black Sam" Bellamy, and Charles Vane. Along with their fellow pirates - former sailors, indentured servants, and runaway slaves - this "Flying Gang" established a crude but distinctive democracy in the Bahamas, carving out their own zone of freedom in which servants were free, Blacks could be equal citizens, and leaders were chosen or deposed by a vote.

Enjoyed this, though I still struggle with some facts solely due to history being written by the victor in some instances. All & all very enthralling. I will say the way it ends felt a little flat, but what can you do...

This book, for my money, stands in a league of its own. I love books like sell or be sold, the 10x rule, the coaching habit, Peak Performance Etc. I must point out that this book I delayed getting I had never anticipated how good it truly would be. Great read, Great delivery, and invaluable wisdom. I will most definitely be replaying this one again again and again.
