Historia
Evan Smoak is a highly trained former government assassin who has survived for years by keeping his circle to a few trusted confidants and a strict code he calls “The Ten Commandments.” But when Evan suddenly finds himself at odds with his oldest friend, all the rules he lives by shatter—and the consequences are murderous. Tommy Stojack might be Evan's best friend in the world. He’s a gifted gunsmith who has created much of Evan's own weapons and combat gear. But now, he has apparently crossed one of Evan's hardest lines and their argument explodes into open warfare.

Almost a different genre from the past Orphan X books
Revisado: 02-23-25
I am a huge fan of both Gregg Hurwitz and Evan Smoak. This last novel, Nemesis, sort of threw me off—it was a layered book with a lot of different story lines. Most were propelled by the often-used narrative of morality. While I enjoy this layer in most Orphan X books, in this story, it infused every subplot to a distracting extent.
The book is so well-written, and the characters are beloved, so I would never give an overall rating of less than 4 stars. I’m hoping there is another Orphan X novel with a story line that’s more exciting, interesting thriller and less morality lesson.

Great listen!
Revisado: 06-02-24
Overall story was excellent. Narration was flawless. The story built chapter by chapter, nail biting and squeaky door in empty house fun.
Great characters, were well thought out -
My only issue was with the final ending - meh. Would have loved a big surprise! The story built to its sort of obvious conclusion, could have used another twist.
Main characters were so good that they form the basis for more stories. I’d be all in

Amazing premise
Revisado: 12-11-23
I am not even a huge Sci-Fi fan - But, I loved the story, which unfolded with great drama, wit and emotional energy. The narrator was one of the best I’ve heard. Every word seemed personally inspired. The laughter, the sarcasm and the tears sounded like they were genuine.
Hope the movie will do justice to it

Always a great listen!
Revisado: 12-06-22
Not my favorite, but a great listen nonetheless - I liked the interspersed real life references. They made the story relevant and that much more interesting. Love, love this series! I’ve learned a lot of history through Ben Hope’s crazy adventures -
Thank you Mr. Mariani - keep them coming.
Thank you as well to Colin Mace, whose excellent narration brings the books to life

The narration is completely distracting from the story -
Revisado: 01-29-22
I am trying to slug my way through this book but in truth I’m finding it difficult. Mr Hill’s voice has the timbre of an elderly gentleman. I keep reading reviews of praise for his narration and I have to admit, not to be unkind but I’m a little baffled?
I’m enjoying the story enough that I may just download the printed copy.
Sometimes you have to know when to call it a day, so to speak - Mr. Hill, please do yourself the favor? It’s time to hang up the microphone and let someone with a younger more vigorous voice take up the reins.

Really fun ride!
Revisado: 10-17-19
This is, as far as I can remember, my first read by author Sandra Brown. I thought it was terrific.
The story was complex enough to make it interesting and not bogged down with too many characters or overly complex situations which make it frustrating to follow.
Love the main protagonist - sort of macho, “Reacher like” guy.
I listened to the audible version. Great narration by seasoned actor Victor Slezak.
Well worth the credit- I will definitely choose other titles from this author .
