Historia
Was Pope John Paul I murdered? If so, by whom, and to what end? Was the Catholic liturgy sabotaged to strip it of truth, power and beauty? If so, by whom, and to what end? Was an international plot underfoot to destroy the Vatican’s financial stability? If so, by whom, and to what end? There was one man who knew the answers to these and many other questions plaguing the post Conciliar Church.

The depth and strength of corruption
Revisado: 12-14-24
I was in my 20’s when Pope John Paul l died. Catholics all over the world were shocked! Rumors, stories of what might have happened were copious. The truth was obscured, but Father Charles Murr has written a profound and fact filled tome about the sorrowful events of the Popes untimely death. The story is filled with personal recollections of Father Murr and suspense. The narration is powerfully read and makes this story visually compelling in the readers mind.

Historia
1946: World War II has ended and all over the world, young women are beginning to fulfill the promises made to the men they wed in wartime. In Sydney, Australia, four women join 650 other war brides on an extraordinary voyage to England—aboard HMS Victoria, which still carries not just arms and aircraft but a thousand naval officers. Rules are strictly enforced, from the aircraft carrier’s captain down to the lowliest young deckhand. But the men and the brides will find their lives intertwined despite the Navy’s ironclad sanctions.

I LOVED IT!!!
Revisado: 11-14-22
I love novels of WW ll. Not the battles, but the lives of those fighting on the front line and loved ones at home struggling to maintain a semblance of normalcy in the midst of the crisis that war brings. The narrative of young war brides sailing from Australia to England is a compelling,
my emotions were tugged in every direction, I fell in love with some characters and loathed others. The ending was like walking on a tightrope. I want to read it again. Just perfect!!!

Historia
As England enters World War II's dark early days, spirited music professor Primrose Trent, recently arrived to the village of Chilbury, emboldens the women of the town to defy the Vicar's stuffy edict to shutter the church's choir in the absence of men and instead carry on singing. Resurrecting themselves as The Chilbury Ladies' Choir, the women of this small village soon use their joint song to lift up themselves and the community as the war tears through their lives.

I Loved It
Revisado: 05-22-21
I couldn’t stop listening. A small English village is the setting for this story. A cadre of women, young and old share details of their lives as they survive daily life in the chaos and uncertainty of WW II.
The story evolves through their journal entries. Though they are living in the shadows of the war, they find joy, strength and who they are, in their woman’s choir. Fast moving, intriguing and clever. The writing is exceptional and I can’t wait to read more of Jennifer Ryan’s book.

A magnificent novel which I will spend time with again!
Revisado: 06-08-18
I loved this book! Julian Fellow’s brings all his skill at story telling to this enthralling novel. I am a “snob” about anything British. There is a perspective about life, which their long history gives them, that I find irresistible.
I was immersed in the lives of the characters from the start, the narrator’s commentary was rich and filled with insight about the motives and forces which moved each of the characters through the storyline. A magnificent novel which I will spend time with again!
