Historia
Joe and humanity as a whole messed up pretty badly, managing to get some of the most important people from both the Elven and Dwarven races killed. Now the war is escalating to unprecedented levels, and only one side needs to worry about being slain. With the attackers knowing they can get right back up after dying, they are throwing themselves against their centuries-long foe without caring for the consequences. As the death toll rises, there’s still hope for Joe and the people that he chose to align himself with.

Pretty mediocre now
Revisado: 08-07-23
Joe never seems to progress much, or if he does, he dies 15 times and regresses somehow. Like Daniels narration makes the whole story feel like a joke. The frustrating part of this is knowing how high leveled other entities are in Eternium from the other divine dungeons series, and listening to Joe still sit around level 20 with garbage stats this late in the series. Frankly, I’m getting bored. The series used to feel like a massive universe with loads of secrets to discover, but now it feels like Joe floundering in a strange world, instead of a completionist determined to do everything and explore the mysteries of this alternate reality. The Luke Daniels silly voiced, just devolves this series into a comedy with little substance. Joe is going to get smacked down, then win at the end against all odds, but in that process will get smacked down harder, leading to the next book with Joe will try to reclaim whatever he lost in order win an un winnable battle.

I might read the final book
Revisado: 08-04-23
I’m upset I bought this without realizing Baldree was dropped. Audible won’t let me return it, so I figured I’d give it a shot. So far, I’ve gone through half of it the first 10 chapters before realizing it was still nothing of substance and skipped through. 4 chapters of cal trying to walk through a thing was grueling. Holy god man get to the point or drop the series. I’m never buying another of one of your books again. I was hoping Baldree would carry your mindless drivel again, but with the new narration, it’s a total slog. I just want to skip through every chapter and cut to the only 3-4 meaty chapters because that’s how the last 5 books have been and I’m sure this one is the same. This isn’t a progression fantasy anymore, it’s a slice of life in a fake world that doesn’t even really exist in the book world. This is complete crap and I’m getting worked up thinking about all the wasted time at this point. It’s a recycled cycle over and over and over again. How many times has artorian fallen asleep, been nerfed into a child’s body, or literally any of 15 other author forced Artorian nerfs to make up a new issue. There is absolutely no plot. You should just write short stories if this is where you want the series to go. All fluff, and absolutely 0 storyline. Seriously, half of this series has been Artorian reconnecting with the same people over and over again because for some reason arortian sleeps for thousands of years every book, lives for a few months while he reconnects with the same people AGAIN, and the author makes up complete BS for Artorian to fix. And Artorian has to fix it because the other hundreds of people stronger than him are conveniently out of the picture again. An endless loop and my final screw you to this once decent author.

Historia
Artorian wakes on a brand-new planet, refreshed and ready to make some mischief now that he’s back in Cal’s soul space! Eternium is old news; in fact, now that Barry is completely forked, the curtains on Eternia’s Alpha have closed. Being awake has its upsides, but there are a few...concerns. Cal, even unconscious, is pushing the boundaries of the double-S ranks. With oaths and promises in peril, should he breach that rank before letting people live their lives, Artorian will hustle and bustle to lay the groundwork for mass-decanting. Surely nothing will go wrong.

Frustrating
Revisado: 08-04-23
This series has dropped off the face of a cliff. I stuck around for Artorian and Travis Baldree, but the next book doesn’t even have Baldree. Even he has given up on this recycled crap. Artorian has been the same level for half the series. I think he may have actually lost a few. I don’t care anymore. There’s not a reason to, because there isn’t a story here. Artorian just fixes a problem like a nice guy, has to sleep forever, then wakes up with more problems because he slept for so long. Rinse and repeat for 5. Freaking. Books. That’s where we’re at, and I see no signs that this will change because dolts like us have kept buying into this cycle. Author, this is garbage. You know it and I know it. I won’t be purchasing another Dennis Vanderkerken book.

Historia
Artorian has seen better days. Chased by demons, hunted by the Red Inkquisition, on the run as a fugitive...and he’s spent barely any time in Eternia. Stuck as a tiny noodle dragon and formed into a crown to decorate the heads of Nobility, he is forced to rely on his friends instead of fixing the issues of the world himself. Luckily for everyone else, the plucky grandfather does not know how to quit. If all Artorian can do is wiggle, then he will wiggle fiercely! By unearthing the secrets of the deity system, he’ll find what it takes to make the true tools of victory.

Kinda of a dumb filler
Revisado: 08-02-23
Demons in Eternium, but the big dungeon is a 10 year old that would rather piss off Artorian and render him useless than assist him in destroying the demons with a sss rank mage that are trying to take him over. How does that make any sense at all? Not to mention how freaking sick I am of artorian getting nerfed. High A ranks? Too boring to write and author isn’t done milking, so toss him back down and make him do tedious tasks to regain his rank. Ahh still too strong, toss him into Eternium where the dungeon will do everything within its power to screw him over out of spite. Oh STILL not nerfed enough, render his body useless so he had to go back to the 5 year old body, I mean seriously get to the point!

Historia
Ruwen wants nothing more than to relax in the Third Secret and recover from the terrible damage to his core. Escaping the ambush in the Infernal Realm had come at a steep cost—one that means no Spirit use until he heals. Unfortunately, rest is one more thing that needs to wait, because the Bamboo Viper Master’s trial started days ago, and not participating results in the purging of his Step knowledge. Not something he wants to risk.

Revisado: 07-29-23
If last boom was my favorite, this book is my least favorite. Complete filler. We learned almost nothing and after Ruwen fighting a god last book, almost any fight against a non god, especially those he’s already beat before, doesn’t make much sense. He’s already beat them even while fighting a god… why’s it even close now? I feel like author didn’t want to end the series, and decided an entire freaking book on the steps was necessary. No secrets of the universe or anything, just ‘enlightenment’. What an absolute scam.

Historia
Ruwen survived Legion’s Fifth Vault with devastating consequences. His escape flung him far from home, severing his connection to Uru. Even his Void Band, with its link to the Black Pyramid, no longer works. Isolated, with no obvious path back, he must learn new skills or die here. For the first time, Ruwen can access his Core without worrying about discovery, and the work started in the Spirit Realm creating spells can finally continue. But that alone will not be enough, and he carefully explores the power of the mysterious Architect Role passed to him by the Goddess Uru.

This book is so good. So good, I forgive the author for the last book. So much happens and twists and turns in the plot that finally weren’t telegraphed through the entire book. I was considering dropping the series after last book, but this book makes me glad I didn’t. Can’t wait to start the next.

Such a good series, but so predicable
Revisado: 07-27-23
This has been a great series so far, but this book was the worst of the lot. Throughout the series, Ruwen has been the butt of every joke, and the target of everyone's frustration to the point that it's annoying, and makes the characters involved start to seem like awful people. Nobody ever sticks up for him, and Ruwen just laughs it off or wallows in self deprecating thoughts of 'woe is me, this is all my fault, etc'. It hasn't been that bad, but as the series continues, and this behavior continues, it starts to became frustrating that his closest friends treat him like this. Then this book comes along and adds to it, along with the plot being so see through that it makes Ruwens internal monologue of plans and panic something I just skip through, because it's so obviously forced tension that it's not believable. Someone gets captured, but they're so important you know they'll get them back. They make plans, which you know will fail, because the author all but tells you it will fail, making it pointless to listen to planning. So much of this book was just pointless filler that I'm pretty annoyed. The tournament arc, I thought might be fun and create some rivalries across the planet that would grow through the series, but also no. The tournament is complete filler. I feel like the entire relevant pieces of this book could have been summed up into a 3 hour audiobook. Listening to a fight for 30m that you know Ruwen will throw for the sake of his disguise negates any meaning of the fight, so why listen/read it? If the next book continues this trend, I think I'll be done with the Divine Apostasy series.

Ruwen’s life is inside out, literally. Trapped in the Spirit Realm by a hostile god’s magic, Ruwen’s spells, abilities, and skills no longer work. Worse, his secret "cultivation" ability is now blindingly evident. A critical clue, given to Ruwen during the betrayal, makes him question the motives behind the treachery and offers a path home.

It’s a good series
Revisado: 07-25-23
But I can’t help but feel like this should have been book 1. Books 1-2 end in a strange manor. They’re awkward cliffhangers that don’t really sit well by the end. They feel like forced cliffhangers to stagger into more volumes. Books 1-3 should have all been book 1, and it even almost reads this way. Especially when you consider less than a week of real time has passed, and we are finally getting an idea of how the world works.

Phenomenal story, but too many holes
Revisado: 06-26-23
Character development is huge in this series, but at the December test, I am incredibly underwhelmed by Mary Roy and Vince. I won’t spoil anything, but these three really went into this test seemingly without an ounce of forethought and that’s just aggravating. They have information enough to do something besides a Roy charge and a Vince beam. How many effing times had this been the strategy and they still start out with it. It’s just annoying, and I feel like based on what we know of their training, they should have done something here especially with Mary around. There’s a fair bit of this in the book too. Sometimes characters act like they would in the sophomore or junior year, even though we are led to believe they have undergone quite a bit of development and should be atleast marginally better. The series is still phenomenal, I just feel like some growth is occasionally forgotten or takes a back seat when it should be front and center. There's another part where "Vince was able to keep up with Chad thanks to training" like really? Chad has complete and utter control of his body downt o a molecular level, so much so that he's almost considered a 'strong man' yet Vince's completely ordinary biology can keep up with Chad in a full sprint? The worst part of this series are the fights and the worldbuilding. Everything revolves around the HCP, and it feels as if the only thing that exists outside of the Lander HCP is the class of legends. And the fights, how could super hero fights be so bad? They all read like "Shane saw she had a gun as she fired a shot. Shane quickly thought to himself that if she had a gun, then he would have to get out of line of sight. But if he did that, then everything he had worked for would go out the window. No, Shane knew he had to try something else. The gun had a weakness, one that he could exploit. If only he could find the perfect opportunity. But just as he had found it, it vanished." Just one move goes into massive amounts of inner monologuing and about strategies and tactics that caused me to skip to the end of almost every fight then listening to the third party analysis we get from every single fight. I feel like we could have got a lot more mileage out of this series, and it being so good if why I'm being so critical.
