Historia
A high-powered attorney from a success-oriented family, Louisa "Lulu" Malone lives to work, and everything seems to be going right, until the day she realizes it’s all wrong. Lulu’s cousin Mitch introduced her to the world of Renaissance Faires, and when she spies one at a time just when she needs an escape, she leaps into the welcoming environment of turkey legs, taverns, and tarot readers. The only drawback? Dex MacLean: a guitarist with a killer smile, the Casanova of the Faire…and her traveling companion for the summer.

One of my favorites in the series
Revisado: 04-19-23
I really love the characters and setting in this series. Dex.and Lulu were a great couple. It was nice to.see them grow and change. I loved Mitch in the last book. It was great to.see him in this book helping Lulu with advice.
I love the descriptions of the fair. I felt like I was right there. The tarot card information was really interesting.
The narrator had a Southern accent, but when she read the credits, she did it in her normal voice, which sounded better to me. The accent was a little distracting.
Too much cursing--watch language!
Hope there are more books in this series!

Historia
Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion...she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.

I enjoyed this story, but was expecting a little more. Some of the scenes, especially the couple's massage, lasted forever. Also, the bad language was unnecessary.
I really liked Olive, Ethan,.and Amy.
I identified with Olive right away. I thought it was pretty smart for a six-year-old to go into the machine and get the toy she never received! Brilliant!I
Ethan was very sweet. He tried so hard to get Olive to believe in herself--and in love.
Amy was nice and supportive..The scene when she invited Dane's girlfriends over was very well done, reminded me of something from a soap opera I used to watch. Also, I loved how Olive's family supported her.

Another good book in this series
Revisado: 04-12-23
I've loved all the stories and characters in this series. This was different because of the older woman/younger man romance. I loved Mitch! He was so considerate and really cared about April. April was great. I could relate to Her feelings about not being good enough for Mitch. Her relationship with her daughter, Caitlyn, had some "Gilmore Girls" vibes.
April and Mitch were a lot of fun together. I enjoyed getting to know them, and look forward to the next book in this series.

One of the best books I've read!
Revisado: 03-20-23
The writing is so beautiful! The book pulled me right in, and I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I really liked Marcie and Flint. They were broken, and needed to find out where they fit in. I also enjoyed the secondaries like Isabella and Darla. It was great when the townspeople pulled together to help each other. I cried when I read about the devastation of the hurricane. I had a similar situation in 2005 (The same year as Hurricane Katrina) when lightning started a fire and hit my condo, and I lost everything. It had to be rebuilt from the studs.
I loved the story of the sea turtles, the description of the artist colony in California, and the really complex characters.
This is a new to me author, and I'm anxious to read more.

Well-written, some magical elements
Revisado: 03-19-23
This was a well-written story with lots of interesting characters. I loved Sam, as wel! as his remarkable family. Alva was a great heroine. The contrast between her and Sam was very clear. I loved the scenes when they went shopping and to dinner at the Italian restaurant.I had to laugh when Alva ate spaghetti. It reminded me of the first time my husband took me to a Chinese restaurant. Some of the scenes were scary, but it was a good book all in all.

Historia
Spoiled, fickle, and prissy are only a few of the adjectives that have been used to describe Morgan Redford. Though she’s never had to worry about money, she’s determined to make a name for herself on her own terms. Her new venture won’t be an epic fail like her former professional cuddling service or the short-lived pet hotel. This time, through the nonprofit she cofounded, Morgan is doing something meaningful—helping teens who are aging out of foster care—and she’s got her eye on a property that could house these kids.

An excellent story
Revisado: 03-12-23
I loved this book! Sven and Clara were such comp!ex characters. I lost my husband after 21years of marriage, but it must have been so hard for Clara to lose her boyfriend after three years. I love the setting. I've never been outside the U.S. and Canada, so the town where they lived sounded beautiful. I liked Sven's co-worker and Clara's mother. The book was so enjoyable to read, and I was anxious to find out what happened. I got the audio version, and only had an hour to go. Every time I started listening, I got interrupted. I'm glad I got to finish, but sorry to say goodbye to these characters.

I really liked Naomi and Ethan. I liked the contrast between them. He's a rabbi, and she's a former star of sexy movies. It's fun watching them finally get to starting a relationship. There were lots of good descriptions and, especially, plenty of snappy dialogue. I enjoyed and identified with descriptions of Jewish life and customs.

Funny and touching, language
Revisado: 03-04-23
This was a funny and touching story. I especially liked the story about her grandfather in the last half of the book.
There was a lot of bad language. I know comedians cuss, but it wasn't needed in the book. All so the flatulence jokes weren't funny at all. That's just my humble opinion.

"Choose you"
Revisado: 02-26-23
I wasn't sure if I would like this book when I first started listening, but this definitely improved.
What I liked: Cindy and Henry. Cindy's family and friends, plus Beck. The letter to Cindy from her mother, and its beautiful message. My favorite scene was when she read the note card. Information about the fashion industry. I love clothes, but I could never design anything. I love that Cindy found her passion again.
What I didn't like: The "show" was too much like "The Bachelor." That's one of my guilty pleasures, so I'd like to read about a show that's different.
