Ms. Bright knows how wrap up all your senses and take them on a glorious ride. Adventure, humor, and heartfelt triumph over the bumpier rides on which life will take you; this book delivers. The whole series is worth a re-"read"! And the performance by Ms. Cass is flawless! I'll never be able to imagine Eleanor with any other voice.

a rich and intriguing story unfolds through the voices of two characters. one is a voice from the past, in the shadow of a world War. the other is more modern but prior to our lives being hijacked by technology, thereby necessitating a journey in order to connect all the pieces of a puzzle spanning decades, cultures, and nations. as always, Rhys Bowen does not disappoint.

I've been a fan since the summer of 1988 and I've never been let down. Follett took on quite a challenge when he wrote the sequel and now the prequel to Pillars of the Earth. Both times, he came out on top. His tradition of research lays a flawless foundation and his gift for character development draws you deeply into the life of the story. He never disappoints. Now it's time to re-read Pillars!
