Awesome. I didn't think it was something I could get anything out of, but I'm so glad I decided to listen. Funny, heartbreaking, and real. Very relatable.

Good story. It's worth a listen. The sound effects and the choice of performers did it for me. spot on.

Historia
Some places seem too beautiful to be touched by horror. Summit Lake, nestled in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, is that kind of place. But two weeks ago, Becca Eckersley, a first-year law student and daughter of a powerful attorney, was brutally murdered there. Now the town is reeling with grief, and the police are baffled.

Predictable
Revisado: 09-24-19
Predictable, but worth a read. Narrator appeared to be "reading" the book. if that makes any sense. That kinda was a turnoff. This took me longer than usual to finish due to the narrator not being able to keep my attention. It could have been better, but on the flipside, I have seen worse. 4 stars because I finished it.

I couldn't get into it
Revisado: 06-21-19
This is my third book by this author and it just couldn't hold my attention. Not sure if it was the narrator or the book. It just moved oh so slow. I tried, but just couldn't finish it. Three hours I will never get back :(

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Awesome
Revisado: 03-23-19
It was a little slow moving for my taste. I didn't think I could get through to the end, but the writing kept me interested from one chapter to the next. I am happy I continued. Narrators did an outstanding job helping with this. I wasn't expecting the twists. By the time I was at the end, I wanted more. I still wish there was more.
I am always skeptical when there is too much hype surrounding a book, but this one did not let me down. Definitely will and have been recommending this one. Job well done, Mr. Michaelides!

Still trying to finish it
Revisado: 01-25-19
The writing is juvenile. I liked the summary so purchased the book. The main female character is pathetic and not likeable for me. Maybe it's the narrator or just the writing, but it is hard to continue. The narrator reads this like a book, if that makes sense. Will try to finish, but not sure it will happen.

I tried
Revisado: 10-08-18
I couldn't finish this. I made it to chapter 13 and had to stop. The main character just wasn't likeable for me. I don't seem to connect well to the weak and , sorry to say, stupid. It may get better, but life is too short to waste time on unliked books. Chapter four was the beginning of its demise.

They were together for years - before he broke her heart. Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch. When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.
