First time I’ve returned an audiobook to Audible
Revisado: 06-14-22
I’ve been a member since early 2000s and this is a first. I waded through a couple of hours but this book was so disappointing I returned it so I could get another title. It opens with an interesting teaser about a deceased man walking into a pond and years later he’s still there pacing around under the surface. Then it goes nowhere. I got tired of waiting for something interesting to happen but it didn’t. Had I been reading this book, I would have hurled it across the room. Figuratively speaking, I just did. I “returned” it.

What a rip-off.
Revisado: 04-20-22
Bought 2 volumes expecting the usual brilliant King works and WHAT a disappointment. Out of the 14+ hours in the volumes, only 3 were worth listening to and those weren’t very good. I think King scraped together his detritus and then dumped it out not in one but broken into 2 volumes. I guess to make more money but. Wow. Sad.

Why hasn't a film or series been made of this?
Revisado: 01-22-20
I didn't really expect much from this book but wow. I was sorry when it ended, after over 34 hours. What a story! The characters and story-line are coherent. I liked this book even more than The Stand, and I'm a rabid Stephen King fan. I'm puzzled how this has been missed by Netflix or Amazon. It would make a great multi-episode series. Being a boomer who grew up in the era of nuclear bomb testing, radioactive fallout (daddy made me stop touching or eating any of the occasional snow that fell here), not to mention duck & cover, this one hit me hard because I know it could easily happen. Still.

Historia
Bob Jones is ordinary, from his appearance right down to his very name. No one seems to take notice of him, not his co-workers, his girlfriend, or even his own parents. But Bob learns he's not alone when he's taken in by a band of people that suffer similarly. Calling themselves "The Ignored", the deadly vengeance they intend to wreak is sure to make them more than just memorable....

Interesting concept but surprisingly boring
Revisado: 08-05-19
Love Little’s other work such as The Store and thought the concept of The Ignored was promising but upon listening it fell flat. The parts with those terrorists was strangely inconsistent with the main character’s personality. The story never fully developed imo. Disappointed.

What a twisted imagination this author has! I went to his website and listened to the D story censored out of the audible version and it was an interesting revenge tale well worth the effort. Highly recommend his work and I will follow this author’s career. Entertaining!!

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Exceeded my expectations.
Revisado: 06-18-18
This is King at his best. Interesting premise. Loved the characters. After sleeping beauties and that kennedy alt-reality thing, I had grown disappointed in King's published work lately. But across all of his work, I think his prose is highly underrated. I couldn't put this "Outsider" down. I found it captivating.

Historia
In a small Arizona town, a man counts his blessings: a loving wife, two teenage daughters, and a job that allows him to work at home. Then "The Store" announces plans to open a local outlet, which will surely finish off the small downtown shops. His concerns grow when "The Store's" builders ignore all the town's zoning laws during its construction. Then dead animals are found on "The Store's" grounds. Inside, customers are hounded by obnoxious sales people, and strange products appear on the shelves.

Why hasn't someone made a movie out of this book?!
Revisado: 10-05-17
I'll be looking for more by this author. We've all heard the complaints from small towns about the economic devastation wrought by the big box stores (Wal-mart, we're looking at YOU). The big store moves in and suddenly everyone is flocking there and bypassing the old mom and pop establishments, leaving a ghost town in its wake. What if the force behind it isn't just a capitalist with a great idea but a supernaturally evil being? Readers, hang onto your hats, it's going to be quite a thrilling ride with an ending you won't soon forget (warning: there's an element of incest near the end, discretion advised).

Historia
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

Love King's work but this one is simply AWFUL.
Revisado: 10-05-17
I really wanted to enjoy this book but ... It is WAY WAY WAY too long. The idea of a "sleeping sickness" that only impacts females, interesting idea. But it didn't need all these hours and hours to convey. Chapter after boring chapter I kept waiting and occasionally something would happen. It's like they took an 8 hour story and spread it out to excruciating length (getting paid by the word, like Dickens?). I don't know, skating on his reputation. I'll say this, Joe Hill 's work knocks my socks off. I can't wait for his next book (later this month). I'll need to think twice before I waste any more money on Joe's father's work. Jeez.

Historia
Welcome to Babylon, a typical sleepy Alabama small town, where years earlier the Larkin family suffered a terrible tragedy. Now they are about to endure another: 14-year-old Margaret Larkin will be robbed of her innocence and her life by a killer who is beyond the reach of the law. But something strange is happening in Babylon: traffic lights flash an eerie blue, a ghostly hand slithers from the drain of a kitchen sink, graves erupt from the local cemetery in an implacable march of terror.

High hopes dashed, BORING not horrifying.
Revisado: 09-12-16
Sorry for the bad review but when this thing dissolved into a tale about a serial killer haunted by his victim, I lost interest completely. Not what I was looking for in "horror". And certainly not the finest writer of it.
