A lovely young adult novel

Most of the heroine’s choices are irritatingly predictable.
That aside if you bear the slow burn building all the back story. It does build into something epic. So many secrets and hidden gems to uncover.
The acting was pretty good, though the screams and moans sometimes sounded a smidge contrived. Some of the extra sound effects were noticeably looped and it was distracting.
Overall though it’s a lovely book. I’m considering also getting the non theatrical version to compare immersion.

I kinda wish it focused more on Luke. The other characters seemed like redundant filler. First books in a series are often like that since there is tons of backstory and universe brick laying that needs to be fleshed out.

2)friend is treated like mushroom by mentor>
3)friend comes out of training stronger that anyone could have imagined...
the only training the book didn’t really go in to detail about was Zed. The way the story began it felt like the story was supposed to center around Luke? I suppose that’s artistic license... idk. I loved the book! I can’t wait for the next one.
