Historia
There's no such thing as a perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes—all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediate yes. That is until Xavier opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. Like, really wrong. Of course, there’s nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . . unless, of course, he can admit he made a mistake.

Great Narration
Revisado: 04-25-25
I really like the book but what drove it home for me was the narration. Loved how they did it. Hope more audible books start to do this .

Historia
Spending her thirtieth birthday alone is not what dating columnist Cleo Wilder wanted, but she plans a solo retreat―at the insistence of her boss―in the name of re-energizing herself and adding a new perspective to her column. The remote Irish island she’s booked is a far cry from London, but at least it’s a chance to hunker down in a luxury cabin and indulge in some self-care while she figures out the next steps in her love life and her career.

I couldn’t wait to be finished with this book.
Revisado: 08-06-22
I can’t believe this is the same author who wrote One Day In December and The Two Lives of Lydia Bird. This one fell flat about a quarter way in. Had I read this book I probably would have skimmed most of it. The characters were boring. The story was boring. It was too wordy . It dragged on an on. It was quite mushy. The story basically was corny.
The only good thing about this book was the narrator, Eleanor Tomlinson . Davis Brooks , on the other hand was not. It felt like he just read it. He didn’t have any inflection to his voice. He probably should narrate fiction history books.
I do hope Josie Silver’s next book will have some depth to it. She didn’t have to go far to think up this story . How many books are there where girl meets boy, boy meets girl, they don’t like each other, then… No need to say it , you know how the story goes.

Historia
It is a perfect July morning, and Elle, a 50-year-old happily married mother of three, awakens at “The Paper Palace” - the family summer place she has visited every summer of her life. But this morning is different: Last night, Elle and her oldest friend, Jonas, crept out the back door into the darkness and had sex with each other for the first time, all while their spouses chatted away inside. Now, Elle will have to decide between the life she has made with her genuinely beloved husband and the life she always imagined she would have had with her childhood love.

I was going to recommend this .
Revisado: 05-13-22
I was going to recommend this book to my sister. I did inform her that there is some very disturbing parts. However, as I continued listening to this book, I became quite bored. The author kept going on and on and on! If I had read it I would have skimmed. She took forever to get to the point. And then, the ending! What???
Actually, the book just became stupid.
Needless to say, I did not recommend this book to my sister .
I did however, like the narrator. She was good!
She always is.

A little weak.
Revisado: 03-15-22
Not my favorite. I was getting bored with the repetitive talk about the Irish republic. I’ve read a lot of books on it, so maybe that is why. Sometimes the dialogue went on too long and it just seemed to be repeating a lot of the same things. Harp and her quotes got a little boring as well. Had I read this book I would have skimmed through a lot of it.
I won’t be reading or listening to the 3rd one.

Historia
Generally considered to be his masterpiece, Vanity Fair is Thackeray's resplendent social satire that exposes the greed and corruption raging in England during the turmoil of the Napoleonic wars. Subtitled "A Novel Without a Hero", it traces the changing fortunes of two unforgettable women: the scheming opportunist Becky Sharp, one of literature's most resourceful, engaging, and amoral heroines, and her foil, the faithful, naive Amelia Sedley.
