Historia
Late October 1909, and the season of ghouls and things that go bump in the night has descended on the village of Littleton Cotterell. Lady Hardcastle and her trusted lady’s maid, Florence, find themselves hosting a colorful cast of actors whose spooky moving picture, The Witch’s Downfall, is being shown to mark Halloween. But things take a macabre turn when the first night’s screening ends with a mysterious murder, and the second night with another. One by one the actors turn up dead in ways that eerily echo their film.

Historia
Spring, 1909, and Lady Hardcastle, amateur sleuth and all-round eccentric, is enjoying a well-deserved rest. But a week after a trip to the cattle market, Spencer Caradine, a local farmer, turns up dead in the pub, face-down in his beef and mushroom pie. Once again, it is up to Lady Hardcastle and her maid, Florence, to solve the case. Armed with wit and whimsy, not to mention Florence’s mean right hook, the pair set out to discover what really happened and why. Was it poison or just ill luck?

Revisado: 07-27-18
I found this book to be very entertaining. The interactions between Flo and her Lady keep you smiling while the story unfolds. There are surprises up to the very end. The narration is wonderful with her beautiful accent and voice modulation. A thoroughly pleasant experience. I highly recommended this book.

Loved this
Revisado: 05-04-18
I have been listening to or reading all of the books in this series: Classified K-9 Unit FBI. I have been enjoying the character development in each of the books and as well as in the consecutive books. Each book has a unique plot. I have not been bored or felt like I had seen this before. "Bounty Hunter" took a unique look at the parallel between law enforcement agencies. And, of course, the love story did not disappoint!

Not as good as I remembered
Revisado: 05-04-18
This is a great book if you are into math and scientific logic. I read this many years ago and remembered enjoying more than I did this time. Maybe I'm just dumber than I used to be. Maybe I skimmed over a lot when I read it. Listening gives it a different quality. I enjoyed parts of it and enjoyed the characters overall but was disappointed.

Historia
Oberon the Irish wolfhound is off to Portland to smell all the things with canine companions, and, of course, his human, ancient Druid Atticus O'Sullivan. The first complication is an unmistakable sign of sinister agendas afoot: a squirrel atop the train. But an even more ominous situation is in store when the trio plus Atticus stumble across a murder upon arrival at the station. They recognize Detective Gabriela Ibarra, who's there to investigate. But they also recognize the body - or rather that the body is a doppelganger for Atticus himself.

Couldn't continue listening
Revisado: 12-20-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The harsh voice of the narrator.
If you’ve listened to books by Kevin Hearne before, how does this one compare?
First time
Would you be willing to try another one of Luke Daniels’s performances?
Doubt it
Did Oberon's Meaty Mysteries: The Squirrel on the Train inspire you to do anything?
Didn't finish
